
Udit Vani Jamshedpur: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi successfully concluded the second edition of its Doctoral Research Conference (DRC) 2025, marking two days of vibrant academic exchange and thought-provoking dialogue. Organised by the institute’s doctoral community, the event served as a dynamic platform for budding scholars to present their research and engage with leading academics and industry professionals.
Day 2 of the conference commenced with a keynote address by Mr. Amit Siddhartha, Strategic Relationship Manager (Higher Education) at Harvard Business Publishing. In his insightful session, Mr. Siddhartha discussed the evolving landscape of business education amidst the rise of artificial intelligence. He highlighted the challenges faced by students and educators alike, the growing role of AI in hiring practices, and the need for gamified and innovative learning approaches to maintain student engagement.
A major highlight of the day was the Editors’ Panel Discussion, which featured distinguished editors including Prof. Varsha Jain (MICA), Prof. Subhadip Roy (IIM Ahmedabad), Prof. Debasis Pradhan (XLRI Jamshedpur), and Prof. Aditya S. Mishra (IIM Ranchi). The panel provided practical guidance on research paper writing, ethical considerations, publication strategies, and the choice between single and multi-study research designs—offering valuable direction to early-career researchers.
In his valedictory address, Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director of IIM Ranchi, reflected on the conference’s impact and sought feedback from participants. He reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to strengthening its doctoral programmes, outlined forthcoming curriculum enhancements, and emphasized the growing opportunities for researchers at IIM Ranchi. He also announced plans to expand the scale of the DRC in future editions.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of participation certificates and the announcement of Best Paper Awards. Kumar Rohit was declared the winner, while Rajanish Chandra was named runner-up.
They received cash prizes of ₹15,000 and ₹10,000 respectively, and briefly shared the motivation behind their award-winning research.
Prof. Aman Kumar, Chairperson of DRC 2025, delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the efforts of faculty members, the organising team, guest speakers, and all participating scholars. The conference reaffirmed IIM Ranchi’s dedication to promoting impactful research that bridges academic inquiry and real-world application.
