UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a comprehensive review meeting held at the collectorate building, Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Karan Satyarthi, engaged with nodal officers from all blocks and urban local bodies.
The focus of the meeting was on improving the quality and impact of field visits conducted by senior officers every Saturday, emphasizing problem resolution, grassroots engagement, and monitoring the progress of government schemes.
The DC stated that field visits should not be limited to observation but must result in the resolution of at least one major local issue.
“We must ensure that every visit leads to a tangible outcome,” he said, underlining the importance of direct communication with residents to understand the real status of service delivery and scheme implementation.
To streamline efforts, the Deputy Commissioner directed that officers should alternate their Saturdays between field visits and in-depth reviews of key development schemes. Only those schemes with significant involvement of block-level officials should be included in the reviews, he added.
Satyarthi announced that officers and employees excelling in the fields of health, education, and nutrition will be recognized with commendation certificates during the upcoming district coordination committee meeting. He urged nodal officers to identify such performers during their field visits.
To enhance the effectiveness of inspections, he instructed that the inspection checklist be updated to reflect current departmental priorities.
He also stressed that no block should lag behind the state average in the execution of any flagship scheme.
Furthermore, the DC instructed all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to organize a weekly public grievance redressal day to ensure timely resolution of citizens’ issues.
Concluding the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that the field visits must not remain a mere paperwork exercise but should translate into real and measurable outcomes for public welfare.
He reiterated that every senior officer must ensure the resolution of at least one issue during each visit to a panchayat area.
