
Udit Vani Jamshedpur : A special state-wide awareness campaign against banned narcotic substances, proposed by the Government of Jharkhand from June 10 to June 26, was formally launched today in East Singhbhum district.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi administered the anti-drug pledge to all officers and staff at the District Collectorate premises.
Following the pledge, he flagged off an awareness van that will travel across various blocks of the district to educate the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and disseminate awareness messages.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that drug addiction not only harms an individual’s health but also severely impacts their future, family, and society at large. He highlighted that drug use leads to both mental and physical health issues and called for collective action against this social evil.
Satyarthi reiterated the district administration’s continued commitment to combating substance abuse and appealed to citizens from all walks of life to actively participate in the campaign. He urged the public to contribute positively toward building a drug-free society.
The awareness campaign will include outreach activities, educational sessions, and community engagement efforts aimed at curbing drug use and promoting healthier lifestyles throughout the district.
