UditVani, Jamshedpur : Panic over rising crime deepened in the city after a woman was robbed of her gold chain in broad daylight in Sonari on Thursday.
The incident took place at Kagalnagar Badtalla under Sonari police station area.
Jayashree Bose was returning home after disposing of garbage when two motorcycle-borne snatchers allegedly swooped in and fled with her gold chain.
She sustained serious scratches on her neck during the scuffle.
The entire episode was captured on a nearby CCTV camera. Police have launched an investigation and are examining the footage to identify and arrest the accused.
The incident comes barely a day after a businessman was shot dead near Golmuri police station, intensifying public concern over law and order in Jamshedpur.
