
UditVani, Jamshedpur: The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Meteorological Centre Ranchi, has reported a steady rise in day temperatures across Jharkhand, even as dry weather conditions prevailed throughout the state over the past 24 hours.
According to the latest Realised Weather Report, no rainfall was recorded at any observation station.
Data based on 8:30 am surface observations revealed a noticeable increase in maximum temperatures in most districts.
Chaibasa emerged as the hottest place in the state, recording a maximum temperature of 34.8°C, which is 5.3°C above normal. Close on its heels was Jamshedpur at 33.8°C (+2.1°C), while Bokaro registered 33.1°C (+5.3°C).
Daltonganj reported a maximum of 32.8°C (+2.3°C), whereas Ranchi recorded a comparatively milder 29.0°C, marginally above normal by 0.5°C.
The lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at Gumla, where the mercury dipped to 12.0°C. Other minimum readings included:
Ranchi: 14.0°C (normal)
Daltonganj: 13.6°C (+0.6°C)
Bokaro Thermal: 14.5°C (+3.0°C)
Jamshedpur: 18.8°C (+3.4°C)
Chaibasa: 16.4°C (+1.5°C)
AWS Observations
Data from Automated Weather Stations (AWS) indicated that Baharagora in East Singhbhum matched Chaibasa’s peak temperature at 34.8°C (+2.2°C).

Seraikela: 34.0°C
Jagannathpur (West Singhbhum): 31.9°C
Bano (Simdega): 31.1°C
Deoghar: 30.5°C
Hazaribagh: 28.7°C
Koderma: 29.2°C (minimum 15.1°C)
Khunti: 29.9°C (minimum 13.1°C)
Latehar: 24.4°C (minimum 13.5°C)
Lohardaga: 28.3°C (minimum 12.7°C)
Pakur: 29.9°C (minimum 15.3°C)
Rainfall remained nil at all AWS stations, reinforcing the IMD’s observation of prevailing dry weather conditions.
The lowest visibility during the period was recorded at the Meteorological Centre in Ranchi, measuring 2000 metres.
Within Ranchi city, Hinoo reported a maximum temperature of 29.0°C and a minimum of 14.0°C, with no rainfall.
The IMD’s latest assessment indicates a consistent upward trend in daytime temperatures across several districts, particularly in the Kolhan region, while night temperatures have remained relatively moderate.
