
Udit Vani, Jamshedpur: In preparation for the upcoming Ranchi Municipal Corporation elections, the Congress Party held a key strategic meeting today at the Carnival Banquet Hall.
The event, titled “Gathering of Ranchi Municipal Congress Workers,” was jointly chaired by Ranchi Metropolitan Congress President Kumar Raja and former Lok Sabha candidate Yashaswini Sahay.
The primary agenda of the meeting was to assess the organizational strength, engage in dialogue with potential candidates, and lay out the framework for the candidate selection process.
Discussions were held on prospective names for posts ranging from ward councilors to deputy mayor. Congress also invited aspiring candidates and party officials to share their opinions and express their interest in contesting.
The meeting was attended by several senior leaders, including AICC in-charge for Jharkhand K. Raju, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay, Hatia MLA Rajesh Kacchap, JSCA President Ajay Nath Shahdeo, Marketing Board Chairman Ravindra Singh, former Mayor Rama Khalkho, and senior leaders Pradeep Tulsiyan and Shamsher Alam, among others.
K. Raju emphasized, “This election is not just a political contest for Congress but an opportunity to present our policies and development agenda to the people. Candidates will be selected through a transparent process with active participation of party workers.”
JPCC President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh stated, “The party will contest the municipal elections with full strength. Candidates will be energetic, proactive, and strong in public outreach. Our organization will remain active in every ward.”
Former Union Minister Subodh Kant Sahay criticized the BJP, saying, “People are now tired of hollow promises and publicity-driven politics. Congress is committed to genuine development and transparency.”
Kumar Raja added, “We will enter the election battleground united and backed by our grassroots experience. This gathering reflects our organizational strength and electoral preparedness. Candidate announcements will be made soon.”
The meeting saw the participation of hundreds of workers, including current and former councilors.
Notable names such as Rajan Verma, Ehtesham Manzar, Deepak Ram, Shajda Khatoon, Kulbhushan Dungdung, Najima Raza, Husna Ara, Savita Kujur, Neetu Paswan, and Kavita Sanga shared their experiences and motivated party members.
Active leaders like Bablu Shukla, Amarendra Singh, Prince Butt, Mehul Prasad, and Md. Hussain were also present.
The event marked the Congress Party’s serious intent, organizational preparedness, and commitment to grassroots engagement ahead of the Ranchi Municipal elections.
