Jamshedpur : Burglars are having a field day in steel city.
The latest incident is that of Jawaharnagar Road No 13 B of Ulidih police station area in Mango, where burglars committed theft of around Rs 1 crore by cutting a lock of a house late on Wednesday night.
The burglars broke the cupboard in Mohammad Akhlaq Khan’s house and ran away with jewelry worth about Rs 95 lakh and Rs 6000 cash.
On Thursday morning, when Akhlaq Khan woke up, he found that his house has been burgled.
According to Mohammad Akhlaq Khan, he used to work in Gulf country earlier, but presently living in Jamshedpur due to health reasons.
He and his wife live in a two -storey house, while both his sons living outside. His daughter -in -law also went to her maternal home during the incident.
At around 1 pm on Wednesday night, the burglars climbed into the balcony vland entered the house after cutting the lock of the grill.
After this, they reached the lower floor and broke the cupboard kept there and escaped with jewelry and cash.
As soon as the incident was reported, the police reached the spot and started investigation.
Police are scrutinizing footage of CCTV cameras installed nearby so that the thieves can be identified. Police claimed that the miscreants would be caught soon.
There is a panic among the residents due to the ever increasing incidents of increasing theft in Jamshedpur.
Questions are being raised on role of police which failed to curb the burglary incidents.
