
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Police have solved the daylight burglary reported in Birsanagar and arrested two accused involved in the crime.
The case was lodged based on a written complaint by 53-year-old Ashok Kumar Maurya, a resident staying near Vijaya Gardens.
He stated that on November 18, unidentified thieves broke the lock of his house and stole jewellery worth Rs 70,000 and cash amounting to Rs 50,000 — a total loss of Rs 1.20 lakh.
Taking the incident seriously, a special investigation team was formed under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police, led by the Superintendent of Police (City) and Deputy Superintendent of Police (City).
The team conducted an intensive probe in and around the crime scene, questioned locals, and used intelligence networks to identify the suspects.
During the investigation, police arrested two accused from the Birsanagar area — Vikas Das (23), resident of Zone No. 03D, and Rohit Gorai alias Bhola (24), resident of Zone No. 03B.
During interrogation, both confessed to the burglary. Based on their disclosure, police recovered the stolen jewellery, cash, and other items.
Recovered items include two nose pins, one nose ring, a pair of silver anklets, a pair of silver-like mehandi bangles, a pair of white earbuds, a Redmi mobile phone, coins worth Rs 1,205 stored in a plastic container, and a “Kangan Jewellery” bag containing Rs 296.
Police said both accused have a criminal record. They were produced in court for judicial proceedings.
