UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a fresh case of vehicle theft, an Apache motorcycle belonging to a youth was stolen from the premises of MGM Hospital under Dimna Outpost, Mango, late Tuesday night.
The incident happened with Rahul Kumar, a resident of New Rani Kudar, Kadma. According to reports, Rahul had brought his ailing father to MGM Hospital on Tuesday night, where doctors admitted him due to his critical condition. During this time, Rahul parked his Apache bike (registration number shared with police) inside the hospital premises and stayed there overnight.
However, when he checked the parking spot around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the bike was missing. After searching the area in vain, he informed MGM police. Acting on the complaint, a police team reached the spot, questioned hospital security guards, and began scanning CCTV footage from the area.
Preliminary investigation suggests that unidentified thieves stole the motorcycle late at night. Rahul, an auto driver by profession, said the bike was essential for his daily livelihood and other personal needs. Its sudden theft has left him in great difficulty.
Police have registered a case and started an investigation. Meanwhile, frequent thefts from the hospital premises have raised serious questions about security deployment and CCTV surveillance at the medical facility.
