
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A review meeting of the AYUSH Department was held at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) Nagendra Paswan.
The meeting focused on the functioning of AYUSH health centers, progress of various health promotion programs, and strategies to strengthen healthcare delivery in East Singhbhum district.
The DDC directed officials to ensure regular and timely OPD services at all 28 AYUSH health centers in the district. He emphasized maintaining patient records, conducting follow-ups, and preparing case studies. Citizens were urged to be made more aware of the benefits of traditional Ayurvedic practices.
Special instructions were issued for proactive measures in identifying and controlling Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, and other lifestyle-related illnesses.
The review also covered osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal disorder management, geriatric support through the Vayo-Mitra Scheme, and geriatric camps in old-age homes. The ongoing Ayurvidya–Healthy Lifestyle School Program to promote healthy habits among children and adolescents was highlighted. Additionally, palliative care under the Karunya initiative for long-term patients was reviewed.
Discussions also focused on the AYUSH Gram program to ensure comprehensive healthcare in rural areas and awareness campaigns on women’s health and menstrual hygiene.
The DDC instructed regular organization of AYUSH camps in Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) communities, along with sanitary pad distribution and hygiene awareness drives.
Concluding the meeting, DDC Paswan stressed timely and effective implementation of all programs, stating that these initiatives will not only spread health awareness but also ensure accessible and quality healthcare services for citizens.
