UditVani, Jamshedpur : In preparation for Diwali and Chhath festivities, the district administration has issued temporary firecracker licenses to 537 vendors across 24 open grounds in the district. The move aims to regulate sales and ensure safety during the festive season.
Meanwhile, amidst the Ghatshila Assembly by-election, the Election Commission revised its earlier guidelines on firecracker licenses within 48 hours.
Initially, the directive allowed licenses only to vendors who had obtained them in 2024, which led to nearly 150 new applicants being denied permission.
On Friday, these new applicants met with Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi to present their case. Following this, the DC submitted a detailed report to the Election Commission, which then issued a revised order permitting all new applicants, except those in the Ghatshila Assembly constituency, to receive temporary firecracker licenses.
Major licenses were distributed across the district as follows:
* Sakchi Ambagan: 101
* Kadma Ganesh Puja Ground: 84
* Club House Bistupur: 17
* Durga Puja Ground Baridih: 39
* Circus Ground Golmuri: 18
* Bagbera Wireless Ground: 6
* Near Harijan School Bhalubasa: 15
