
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Sabuj Kalyan Sangh, Telco, is organizing its first-ever Rapid Chess Championship on January 18 at the Telco campus. More than 100 participants have already registered.
Kumar Sankalp (rating 1771) is the top seed, while Ishani Choudhary (rating 1462) leads the women’s category. Organizers are offering a total of Rs 40,000 in cash prizes along with 36 trophies for boys and girls in various age groups. Reporting time is 8:00 a.m. at the Sabuj Kalyan Sangh venue, with games starting at 8:30 a.m. over 8 rounds. The entry fee is Rs 650.
A final meeting held today finalized all technical details. The tournament will be conducted by Chief Arbiter Jayant Kumar Bhuyan and Deputy Chief Arbiter Vishal Kumar Minz. Present at the meeting were Mr. Pradeep Ghoshal (Drama Secretary), Mr. Joy Jyoti Khatua (Tournament Director), Mr. Deepak Banerjee (Indoor Secretary), Mr. Mithilesh Ghosh (General Secretary), Mr. Sudhir Bhattacharya (Assistant General Secretary), and Mr. Subroto Bose (Assistant General Secretary).
