UditVani, Jamshedpur : D.B.M.S. English School hosted its much-awaited Annual Prize Night for the academic year 2024-25 with grandeur and enthusiasm.
The evening was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Mrs Bhanumathi Neelakantan, Chairperson of DBMS, Mr B. Chandrashekhar, Chairperson – Finance & Legal, Mrs Lalitha Chandrashekhar , Chairperson – Admin.
Udit Agrawal, Editor – Udit Vani, was the Chief Guest for the Annual Prize Night.
Reflecting on the school’s rich heritage, Agrawal commended the institution for maintaining its core ethos and culture over decades.
“Every school has an ethos — a culture — and I am so happy to see that the ethos of this institution has remained unchanged for so many years. That continuity is rare and deeply valuable,” he remarked.
He acknowledged the school’s legacy, founded in 1965, emphasizing that such traditions, values, and achievements are vital assets passed down through generations.
Agrawal also praised the students for their outstanding performances and perseverance. He concluded his address by congratulating the students, teachers, and parents for their hard work and commitment, which continue to uphold the school’s distinguished legacy.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, followed by an academic procession led by the school coordinators and Principal.
Sudha Dutta, Primary Level Coordinator, led the Special Awardees of KG-I to Std-III, while Sourav Mukherjee, Middle School Coordinator, led the rankers of Std-IV to Std-VII.
Principal Rajani Shekhar and Vice – Principal P.K. Sahu led the special awardees from Std-IV to Std-VII.
A warm welcome address and a graceful prayer dance set the tone for the evening.
Following this, the chief guest was formally introduced and felicitated with a sapling.
Principal Rajani Shekhar then presented the Principal’s Report, highlighting the school’s multifaceted achievements.
The prize distribution ceremony was the highlight of the event, celebrating outstanding achievements across various categories: Most Outstanding Student, Most Persevering Student, Academic Excellence, and “A Student for Others.”
Awards were distributed across primary and middle school levels by dignitaries and senior school authorities, including Lalitha Seshadri (Treasurer), Priya Nagarajan (Joint Secretary), Archana Ramesh (Secretary), B. Chandrasekhar (Chairperson), and Lalitha Chandrasekhar (Managing Committee Chairperson).
Several students were recognized for their exceptional performances, including Aranya Das (overcoming odds), Aizah Ali (best in Std-II), Pronil Bose (best in Std-III), Sanchay Singh Panoo (best in Std-IV), Aadrik Ganguly (best in Std-V), Manraj Singh Bindra (best in Std-VI), and Ayush Ranjan (best in Std-VII).
Special subject awards were also conferred, highlighting excellence in Mathematics, Sanskrit, Bengali, and Tamil.
Class awards for discipline and maintenance were proudly claimed by Std-I B and Std-I E, respectively.
The evening concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks and the school anthem, marking the end of a truly memorable occasion.
