
UditVani Jamshedpur : In a major breakthrough against narcotics trade, Parsudih police arrested five persons with a large quantity of brown sugar following a raid near St. Robert’s School ground.
Based on a secret tip-off , a special team led by Officer-in-Charge Avinash Kumar, under the supervision of senior officials, swiftly moved into action. The suspects were caught red-handed while dealing drugs inside a white Hyundai car.
Police recovered 119 packets of brown sugar, the car, 12 cheque books, three passbooks, a credit card, nine QR codes, and four mobile phones from their possession.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Arvind Kumar Sharma alias Caddy, Honey Syansi, Mohammad Sameer, Mohammad Sabbir Hussain, and Mohammad Toufiq Alam.
Authorities revealed that the gang had been conducting financial transactions worth lakhs of rupees through multiple bank accounts. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further investigations are underway to trace other members of the network.
According to the City SP, the group was operating in a highly organized manner, and the crackdown marks an important step in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the city.
