UditVani, Jamshedpur / Kolkata : CII Young Indians (Yi) Jamshedpur came up with flying colours at the just concluded Annual Flagship Summit ‘Take Pride’ held in Kolkata.
The Jamshedpur chapter received four prestigious awards for its exceptional contributions to nation-building and youth leadership throughout 2024.
Recognized for Safe Childhood Initiatives
Among the accolades, Yi Jamshedpur was honored for its impactful initiatives under the MASOOM program, which focuses on ensuring a safe childhood.
This award, presented by legendary sportsperson Saina Nehwal, highlighted the chapter’s relentless efforts towards a safe childhood. Masoom is one of the key projects of Yi, where the youth organisation works on various initiatives towards creating awareness on child safety and protection and eliminating child sexual abuse with awareness sessions, campaigns, events and social media. Under this project, Yi conducts sensitization sessions on safe and unsafe touch and digital safety with children, teachers and parents/caregivers. The activities under Project Masoom were led by Rashmi Kauntia, Debasmita Guha Bhalotia, and Preeti Jhunjhunwala with support from other members of Yi Jamshedpur chapter.
Best Chapter Award For Exemplary Work :
Yi Jamshedpur was also recognized as the Best Chapter among 70 cities across the country for its exemplary work with school children.
The award was presented by Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy. This achievement underscores the chapter’s dedication to fostering youth engagement and education.
Several impactful initiatives were implemented across more than 250 schools in Jamshedpur by the dedicated Thalir team, comprising Rahul Bhagat, Neha Agrawal, Bijal Mehta, Sneha Agrawal, and other enthusiastic volunteers of the chapter.
The organization received special recognition for its innovative programs designed for school children, led by the visionary leadership of Vedang Gutgutia and Shraddha Agrawal.
Applause For Road Safety Efforts:
A third award celebrated Yi Jamshedpur’s impactful work on road safety, an initiative that reached over 50,000 children and adults in the city during 2024. The legendary Indian cricketer and former BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly presented this award, acknowledging the chapter’s commitment to creating a safer environment for the community. The Road Safety team of Yi Jamshedpur includes Shruti Jhunjhunwala, Sakshi Agarwal, Sunil Parikh and Akash Anand.
Best Chapter for Health Initiatives:
Yi Jamshedpur was also recognized as the best chapter for its health-related initiatives, which focused on better mental health, hygiene and sanitation, and combating drug abuse. This prestigious award was presented during the Take Pride summit by Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj. The health initiatives were spearheaded by Umang Agarwal, Mokshita Gautam, and Ankit Agarwal.
Leadership and Vision for Nation-Building :
Udit Agrawal, Chairman of Yi Jamshedpur for 2024, expressed his gratitude and pride in the chapter’s achievements. “Yi is committed to nation-building through youth leadership. Over the years, the Yi Jamshedpur chapter has evolved as an organization of significance and has contributed immensely to impactful causes. We are thankful to our past leadership for their efforts and guidance and are proud to have played a significant role towards building a ‘Viksit Bharat’,” he said.
Koushik Modi, Co-Chair, Yi Jamshedpur 2024, added, “ Altogether 71 members of Yi Jamshedpur represented the chapter at the summit this year. The awards exemplify the efforts of our organization, led by young entrepreneurs, towards driving meaningful change and fostering a sense of responsibility in the community.”
Celebrating Excellence at Take Pride 2024:
The awards ceremony was part of ‘Take Pride,’ the Annual Flagship Summit of Yi under the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Held in Kolkata ( Dec 20-21), the summit celebrated leadership, innovation, and efforts that align with the vision of a progressive and empowered India.
With these recognitions, Yi Jamshedpur continues to set benchmarks in community impact and youth empowerment, inspiring others to contribute to the nation’s development.
