Jamshedpur : Police have so far failed to arrest the criminals involved in the murder of ration dealer Abhishek Hembram on November 14 at Barigora under Parsudih police station area.
Angry family members and villagers surrounded Parsudih police station on Monday and demanded immediate action against the culprits.
The protesters demonstrated with placards demanding death penalty for the culprits.
The Incident
Abhishek Hembram was shot dead at his house on November 14. Around 4-5 people including local youth Roshan Hembram and Bhola Honaga are accused in the murder case
The accused are absconding since the incident. Family members and villagers blamed police for failing to take any action so far.
Villagers gherao police station
The village head and the protesters alleged that there is no police patrolling in the area, due to which the criminals are moving freely. The village head warned that if police fails to take action, soon they would gherao the SSP office.
Police assurance
Seeing the seriousness of the incident, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Law and Order) Tauqeer Alam reached Parsudih police station and met the protesters. He assured the family that the culprits would be arrested soon.
The DSP said that instructions have been given to increase police patrolling and keep the area under surveillance.
Pain and hope of family members
The family members are in a state of shock after the murder incident and are pleading for justice. Villagers said that the incident raises big questions on the law and order situation of the area.
Notably, the Abhishek Hembram murder case has given rise to feeling of insecurity in the area. The victim’s family and villagers can hope to get justice only after proper police action and arrest of criminals
