UditVani, Jamshedpur : Criminal activities in the city are on the rise, with miscreants carrying out yet another daring robbery within 24 hours.
A day after a jewellery shop was looted in the Sonari police station area, another major incident took place on Thursday in Bistupur.
Armed criminals in an Innova car intercepted businessman Saket Agrawal near the Gurudwara and looted a bag containing ₹30 lakh that he was carrying to deposit in a bank.
The attackers also opened fire in the air to create panic before fleeing the spot. The sudden incident triggered chaos in the locality, forcing pedestrians and shopkeepers to run for safety.
Police from Bistupur station rushed to the scene and began investigating the case. CCTV footage from the area is being examined, and special teams have been formed to track down the culprits.
This second major robbery in less than 24 hours has raised serious concerns over the city’s law and order situation.
Residents now feel increasingly unsafe, while the business community, in particular, is gripped by fear. Locals alleged that the growing boldness of criminals has made it difficult for ordinary people to step out freely.
Senior police officials, however, assured that the culprits would be arrested soon and the case solved.
Despite these assurances, the incidents have sparked widespread discontent over the deteriorating security scenario in Jamshedpur.
