
UditVani, Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) has announced its first-ever Open Water Swimming competition, to be held against the scenic backdrop of Dimna Lake on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
The event marks a significant milestone in eastern India’s sporting landscape, aimed at popularizing open water swimming and positioning Jamshedpur as a future hub for the sport.
Open water swimming has been gaining steady momentum across India, and TSAF’s initiative offers an excellent platform for swimmers from diverse backgrounds to showcase their abilities.
The event has received an overwhelming response, with 85 participants from 10 states confirming their entries.
Event categories include 500 m, 1 Km, 2.5 Km and 5 Km.
Safety First
TSAF has emphasized participant safety as its top priority. The entire course will be monitored by trained lifeguards, rescue rafts, and emergency response teams. Additionally, all swimmers will be required to wear tow-float buoys to ensure enhanced visibility and safety throughout the event.
The TSAF Swim-A-Thon is poised to become a landmark sporting event for the region, bringing adventure sports and aquatic endurance to the forefront in Jamshedpur.
