
UditVani, Jamshedpur : The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Jharkhand organized a two-day conference and exhibition – CII Jharkhand Safety Talk 2025 — on October 31 and November 1 at The Cruze in Adityapur.
The two-day event brought together over 300 delegates and 800 exhibition visitors, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration on enhancing workplace safety across industries.
The conference served as a confluence of ideas, best practices, and innovations aimed at safeguarding human lives, minimizing risks, and strengthening India’s industrial safety ecosystem. Eminent speakers, industry stalwarts, and safety professionals engaged in thought-provoking sessions that explored both strategic and operational dimensions of safety management in modern enterprises.

MSME Leaders Roundtable: Prioritizing Safety for Sustainable Growth
The session on “Safety Priorities for MSMEs” underscored that workplace safety is not merely a regulatory requirement but an essential element of business excellence.
Speakers urged MSMEs to embed safety in every operational layer — from factory layout and assembly design to employee training and emergency preparedness.
The panel featured Tapas Sahu, CEO & MD, Highco Engineers Pvt. Ltd.; Biswajit Jena, Associate Vice President, RSB Transmissions (I) Ltd.; Amarjeet Singh, Partner, Abreast Engineering Company; and Rajjeev Shukla, Partner, Himalaya Enterprises.
They emphasized the importance of expert-led safety audits, risk assessment mechanisms, and continuous employee sensitization in creating resilient and efficient MSMEs.

Addressing the challenges faced by large organizations, this session highlighted the pivotal role of leadership in fostering a safety-first culture.
Speakers noted that effective safety management begins when leaders “walk the talk” and place human life above productivity or cost targets.
Ujjal Chakraborti, EIC – Tinplate Division, Tata Steel Ltd; Suresh Kumar, GM – Safety, SSO, SAIL; and Abhijit Ain Das, Head – Safety (Generation), The Tata Power Company Limited shared insights on leadership-driven transformation, digital monitoring tools, and behavioral safety initiatives that are shaping the future of industrial safety.
Securing Industry: Countering Cyber Threats and Fraud
In an increasingly digitalized industrial landscape, Mansoor Ahmad, Director – Outreach (East), Online Programs & Cyber Safety, Subharti Group of Universities, delivered a compelling address on cyber risk management.
He noted that “India today faces more cyber fraud than traditional cybercrime”, urging organizations to prioritize digital literacy and cyber safety education.
Drawing from his personal experiences in the global cyber community, he discussed evolving threats like fraudulent university fee scams and phishing-based frauds targeting employees.
His session illuminated how organizations must integrate cybersecurity with operational safety frameworks to ensure holistic risk management.
Road Safety Awareness: The Human Factor in Prevention
The Road Safety Awareness session spotlighted the urgent need for behavioral transformation among commuters and industrial fleet operators alike. Speakers stressed that nearly 80% of road accidents stem from human error, reinforcing that technology and regulations can only complement — not replace — personal responsibility.
Panelists Neeraj Sinha, Chief – Safety, Tata Steel Ltd; Mr. Udit Verma, Head – Safety (Road and Rail), Tata Steel Ltd; and Jehaan A. Kotwal, Director, Good Mind Pvt. Ltd. discussed emerging innovations such as AI-based fatigue detection and mobile alert systems designed to mitigate human lapses behind the wheel.
Zero Incident Mindset: The Process Safety Way
Closing the conference, Dave Bright, Coach and Advisor at DB Coaching Solutions, inspired delegates to adopt a “zero-incident mindset.”
He emphasized proactive risk identification, strong process safety design, and unwavering operational discipline as the bedrock of safety excellence.
His address reinforced that true safety transformation is achieved when every individual, from the shop floor to the boardroom, internalizes safety as a personal value rather than an imposed obligation.
