
UditVani, Jamshedpur : A collaborative agreement was signed on 21st October 2025 between CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, Jamshedpur and Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited, to enable joint interventions that enhance quality, sustainability, and innovation in mineral research specially aligned to critical metals.

This agreement shall be extended to projects, which are jointly implemented, by CSIR NML and MECL or projects of MECL. The collaboration focuses on critical mineral research, mineral beneficiation, metal extraction, technical gap assessment, analytical and implementation support aligned with the Government of India’s vision for sustainable and self-reliant mineral development by virtue of improving analytical skills, encouraging knowledge exchange, and supporting joint research and training. This agreement shall augment the critical mineral research taken by CSIR-NML & MECL under Centre of Excellence in Critical Minerals and Metals.

The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Shri Indra Dev Narayan CMD, MECL and Shri Pankaj Pandey, Director (Technical), MECL, along with Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director, CSIR-NML. Shri Karthik Ramachandran, Head, Business Development & Commercial, MECL and Dr. S.K. Pal, Chief Scientist & Head, Research Planning and Business Development, CSIR-NML executed the agreement, in the presence of Scientists (Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Dr. D. Mishra, Dr. Abhilash) from CSIR-NML and officials (Shri Srikant Sharma, GM Exploration and others) from MECL.
