
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Tata Steel today announced the launch of the 10th edition of the Tata Steel Jamshedpur Half Marathon, scheduled for November 30.
Over the past decade, this iconic event has evolved into one of Jamshedpur’s most celebrated sporting traditions—symbolizing fitness, community spirit, and city pride.
The announcement was made at a press conference unveiling the theme, date, and registration details. D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel, graced the event as the chief guest.
This year marks a significant milestone—the 10th anniversary of the marathon—with the theme “Dil Se Daud for Jamshedpur”, emphasizing running for joy, togetherness, and the pride of the city.
In 2024, the marathon drew 4,821 participants from 18 states, showcasing its nationwide appeal.
For 2025, organizers anticipate participation to exceed 5,500 runners, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for health and wellness in the region.
The Half Marathon category (21.097 km), introduced last year, saw nearly 500 runners and is expected to attract an even larger turnout this year.
Total prize money for 2025 stands at ₹9.18 lakh, reaffirming Tata Steel’s dedication to promoting competitive spirit and fitness among participants.
The marathon route will remain unchanged, ensuring a safe and well-organized experience for all runners.
Tata Steel has consistently championed sports and fitness as part of its corporate ethos. Beyond the Jamshedpur Half Marathon, initiatives such as the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, Joda Run-a-thon, Kapilash Half Marathon, and specialized sports academies in football, archery, athletics, hockey, and sport climbing continue to foster sporting excellence.
