UditVani, Jamshedpur : In a powerful testament to resilience and inclusive education, Kumari Nikita, a visually impaired student from a Hindi-medium background, has rewritten possibilities by becoming the first blind student to successfully undertake the ISC Board curriculum at Kerala Public School (KPS) Kadma.
Nikita’s story is not merely one of academic achievement—it is a shining example of courage, innovation, and the strength of a school community that believed in her every step of the way.
Despite her visual challenges, Nikita’s determination was met with the unwavering support of KPS Kadma.
Under the visionary leadership of principal Sharmila Mukherjee, the school advocated directly with the ISC Council to design a tailored academic experience for Nikita.
With customized exam papers, audio-based learning materials, and peer-supported note sharing, the institution ensured that education remained accessible and empowering.
Her classmates and teachers became pillars of support, offering audio lessons, Braille guidance, and consistent encouragement.
Through the use of AI technology and screen readers, Nikita turned obstacles into opportunities, mastering subjects like Economics and English that once seemed daunting.
Beyond academics, Nikita flourished as a poet and singer, composing over 200 motivational poems that have touched countless hearts.
Her journey, marked by empathy and innovation, reaffirms that true education transcends textbooks—it empowers individuals to defy odds and inspire change.
“Vision is not limited by sight but by the boundaries we allow ourselves to create,” Nikita says, her words resonating far beyond the classroom.
As she prepares to step into a new chapter of life, Nikita stands not just as a successful student, but as a trailblazer—a beacon for inclusive education and an emblem of hope for many who dare to dream differently.
