UditVani, Jamshedpur: Kia Motors, the Korean auto giant, launched the much-anticipated facelifted version of its popular SUV, the Seltos, at a grand event held at the Utkal Kia showroom in Adityapur.
Prabhat Kumar, SSP of East Singhbhum officially unveiled the new Seltos to the enthusiastic audience. The SUV is now available for bookings at the authorized dealership.
The new Seltos boasts a modern and sleek design, coupled with a host of impressive features. It comes equipped with 32 safety features, including the highly advanced Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with 17 features. Additionally, one of the most awaited features, a panoramic sunroof, is now available in the new Seltos.
Under the hood, the 2023 Seltos offers three powertrain options. It is available with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-liter diesel engine, and a new 1.5-liter turbo-petrol motor. The transmission options include a six-speed manual, a six-speed intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT), a continuously variable transmission (CVT), a six-speed torque converter automatic, and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
Stepping inside the new Seltos, drivers and passengers are greeted with a dual-tone black and beige interior theme. The SUV features a 12.5-inch all-digital instrument cluster, a redesigned center console, automatic dual-zone climate control, and cruise control. One of the highlights is the Level 2 ADAS suite, which enhances safety and driver assistance capabilities.
The 2023 Seltos also offers a range of impressive entertainment and convenience features. These include a 360-degree surround camera, an eight-speaker music system sourced from Bose, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, and an eight-way powered driver seat. The SUV is equipped with a flat-bottom steering wheel and steering-mounted controls for added convenience.
Variants and colour options
Buyers can choose from seven variants and 11 color options for the new Seltos. The SUV is available in three main trim levels: Tech Line, GT Line, and X Line. The color palette offers eight monotone and two dual-tone exterior paint schemes, including options like Pewter Olive, Sparkling Silver, Clear White, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, Intense Red, and Glacier White.
Production milestone
Kia made its entry into the Indian market in August 2019 with the launch of the Seltos, which quickly gained popularity among SUV enthusiasts. Within an impressive span of just 46 months, Kia achieved the remarkable milestone of selling 500,000 units. Since then, Kia has expanded its product portfolio with successful launches like the Carnival and Sonet in 2020, followed by the Carens and EV6 in 2022. The state-of-the-art Kia facility in Anantapur has produced over 532,450 units of the Seltos, 332,450 units of the Sonet, 120,516 units of the Carens, and 14,584 units of the Carnival.
New Kia Seltos vs Old Model – Price Comparison
Pricing details for the new Seltos have yet to be announced. However, it is expected that the enhanced safety features and new-age technologies will command a reasonable premium of approximately Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000 over the previous model. Furthermore, the turbo petrol version is anticipated to have a premium of around Rs. 1.85 lakh compared to the non-turbo petrol variant. Kia is set to release the official prices soon.
