The New Parliament building will have a built-up area of about 65000 sqmt. Its triangular shape ensures optimum spaces utilization.
A larger Lok Sabha hall with the capacity of upto 888 seats and Rajya Sabha hall with a capacity of upto 384 seats. The Lok Sabha may accommodate upto 1272 seats for Joint Sessions.
The Lok Sabha will be three times bigger with 888 seats. It is based on Peacock theme, the National Bird.
The Rajya Sabha is based on Lotus theme, the National Flower.
The Constitutional hall will be bigger than the one in the already existing Parliament.
The building will have offices equipped with latest communication and technology.
The new building will have large committee rooms equipped with latest Audio-Visual Systems.
The New Parliament building library will efficiently serve the members getting information from archived material.
The Central Lounge has been created to compliment the open courtyard. It is intended to be the place for members to interact. The courtyard will have the national tree-the Banyan Tree.
