रैली में बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राओं, एनसीसी और एनएसएस यूनिट के सदस्यों के साथ फैकल्टी सदस्य भी शामिल हुए. प्रतिभागी हाथों में तख्तियां लिए नारे लगा रहे थे— *“HIV से लड़ें, मरीज से नहीं,” “जागरूक रहें, सुरक्षित रहें,”* और *“एड्स को रोकना है, समाज को जागरूक बनाना है.”* राहगीरों ने भी छात्रों की इस पहल की सराहना की.

कार्यक्रम के दौरान साकची बाजार क्षेत्र में छात्रों ने एक संवेदनशील नुक्कड़ नाटक भी प्रस्तुत किया. नाटक में बताया गया कि HIV किन माध्यमों से फैलता है, किनसे नहीं, तथा संक्रमित व्यक्तियों से भेदभाव न करने का संदेश दिया गया. नाटक ने सुरक्षित संबंध, स्वच्छता, नियमित जांच की जरूरत और समाज में फैली गलतफहमियों को दूर करने पर जोर दिया.

विश्वविद्यालय के सामाजिक दायित्व प्रकोष्ठ (Social Responsibility Cell) की ओर से आयोजित इस कार्यक्रम में अधिकारियों ने कहा कि NSU हर वर्ष इस तरह के अभियान आयोजित कर छात्रों के माध्यम से समाज में सकारात्मक संदेश फैलाने का प्रयास करता है.

प्रारंभिक जांच में जहां एक बच्चे के संक्रमित ब्लड चढ़ाए जाने की पुष्टि हुई थी, वहीं अब रांची से आई विशेष मेडिकल टीम की जांच में चार और यानी पांच थैलेसीमिया पीड़ित बच्चे एचआईवी पॉजिटिव पाए गए हैं. जांच पूरी होने तक यह संख्या और भी बढ़ाने की संभावना है. यह घटना स्वास्थ्य व्यवस्था की बड़ी लापरवाही को उजागर करती है. स्वास्थ्य विभाग के निदेशक डॉ. दिनेश कुमार के नेतृत्व में विशेष मेडिकल टीम ने सदर अस्पताल के ब्लड बैंक और पीकू वार्ड का औचक निरीक्षण किया और इलाजरत बच्चों के परिजनों से विस्तृत जानकारी ली.

मेडिकल टीम की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार जांच के दौरान कई गंभीर अनियमितताएं पाई गई हैं. अब यह मामला अत्यंत गंभीर रूप ले चुका है, जिस पर लगातार कार्रवाई और जांच की प्रक्रिया जारी है. पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए निदेशक ने बताया कि ब्लड बैंक में जो भी खामियां हैं उसे दूर करने के लिए एक सप्ताह का समय दिया गया है. उन्होंने कहा कि जांच में जो रिपोर्ट पाई गई है, उसे झारखंड के आला अधिकारियों को सौपा जाएगा.

इस बीच दो से तीन दिन ब्लड बैंक इमरजेंसी के रूप में काम करेगा. इस मेडिकल टीम के निरीक्षण में स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं झारखंड के निदेशक डॉ. दिनेश कुमार, डॉ शिप्रा दास, डॉ एसएस पासवान, डॉ भगत के अलावा पश्चिमी सिंहभूम के सिविल सर्जन डॉ सुशांतो कुमार मांझी, डीएस डॉ शिवचरण हांसदा, डॉ मीनू कुमारी शामिल थी.

The child’s family has accused the hospital of negligence, alleging that the infection resulted from contaminated blood provided by the hospital’s blood bank.

They have demanded immediate action and accountability from the health department.

Following the allegations, the district health administration has initiated a probe.

The district civil surgeon has directed officials to collect transfusion records and blood samples for verification and promised a detailed report.

The incident has triggered widespread concern in Chaibasa, with health activists demanding strict monitoring of blood banks, periodic audits, and stringent adherence to safety protocols to prevent such tragic lapses in the future.

The walkathon created awareness about HIV/AIDS while encouraging community participation.

Students also carried placards creating awareness on AIDS. A Nukkad Natak ( street corner play ) was also organised.

World AIDS Day is observed on December 1 to unite people worldwide in the fight against HIV/AIDS and support those living with the disease.

This year’s theme, “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right,” focuses on ensuring access to healthcare and eliminating barriers to treatment.

Tata Main Hospital regularly organises health events that emphasize preventive care and public health education.
