As of May 31, 2025, the facility has produced 4049 MW of modules and 1441 MW of solar cells.

The plant, built to meet Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) norms, manufactures advanced Mono PERC and TopCon modules using AI-driven automation. In FY26, TP Solar targets 3.7 GW of cell output and 3.725 GW of module production, supporting India’s push for 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

With a rated capacity of 4.3 GW, the plant supplies panels for Tata Power’s utility-scale, rooftop, and hybrid energy projects, as well as third-party installations.

Notably, over 80% of the workforce are women, and the facility follows green building and sustainable manufacturing practices.

TPREL also operates a fully utilized 682 MW module and 530 MW cell plant in Bengaluru, further strengthening Tata Power’s role in India’s clean energy value chain.

अधिग्रहण के बावजूद कार्य ठप
विधायक महतो ने सदन में कहा कि यदि टाटा पावर कंपनी इस परियोजना को लागू नहीं करना चाहती, तो उसे नियमों के अनुसार अधिग्रहित जमीन मूल रैयतदारों को लौटानी चाहिए.

सरकार से जमीन वापसी की मांग
सविता महतो ने सरकार से आग्रह किया कि टाटा पावर द्वारा अधिग्रहित 470 एकड़ जमीन को किसानों को वापस दिलाने की पहल की जाए. इस संबंध में विधायक के आप्त सचिव काबलु महतो ने जानकारी दी.

उन्होंने कामगारों से कहा कि वे अनसेफ काम नहीं करें तथा न करने दें. अनसेफ काम दिखने पर वे तुरंत इसकी सूचना प्रबंधन को दें. साथ ही अगर कहीं स्वास्थ्य के लिए कार्यस्थल अनुपयुक्त लगे तो वहां काम नहीं करें तथा इसकी सूचना भी प्रबंधन को दें. उन्होंने इसके लिए स्वयं जागरुक होने को कहा. प्रबंधन से ठेका मजदूरों को ट्रेनिंग देने के बाद तथा कार्य अनुभव के आधार पर ही काम पर लेने को कहा.  मुख्य कारखाना निरीक्षक ने कहा कि वे झारखंड को जीरो एक्सीडेंट राज्य बनायेंगे. उन्होंने टाटा पावर को सेफ्टी के क्षेत्र में काम की सराहना की. स्वागत भाषण टाटा पावर के आइइएल के सीइओ तथा जमशेदपुर ऑपरेशंस के चीफ बसुदेव हांसदा ने दिया.

ऐसे में परिवर्तनशील लागत के तहत वे आयोग द्वारा तय दर में प्रति यूनिट में बढ़ोतरी का प्रस्ताव मांगा है. कंपनी ग्रुप रेगुलेटरी हेड दिलीप कुमार ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार का निर्देश है कि शक्ति कोल के अलावा कंपनियां छह प्रतिशत आयातित कोल का इस्तेमाल करें लेकिन हमने इसके बदले में घरेलू कोल का इस्तेमाल करते हुए 30 करोड़ रुपये की बचत की, नहीं तो इसका भार उपभोक्ताओं पर पड़ता. इससे पहले आयोग के सदस्य तकनीकी अतुल कुमार व सदस्य, विधि महेंद्र कुमार की अध्यक्षता में यह जन सुनवाई पूरी हुई.

प्लांट मशीनरी का होगा मूल्यांकन
आयोग के सदस्य तकनीकी अतुल कुमार ने कहा कि वर्ष 2001-02 में स्थापित टाटा पावर के 25 साल पूरा होने वाला हैं इसलिए पहले इसके प्लांट-मशीनरी का मूल्यांकन किया जाएगा कि यह आगे पावर जनरेशन के लिए उपयोगी होगी या नहीं. टाटा पावर ने बिजली खरीद-बिक्री के लिए टाटा स्टील से 30 साल का समझौता किया है. कंपनी भले ही समझौता करें लेकिन हमें यह देखना है कि प्लांट 30 साल चलने के योग्य है या नहीं.

कंपनी ने अब तक नहीं लगाया है एफजीडी तकनीक
टाटा पावर ने अब तक प्रदूषण को रोकने के लिए फ्यूल गैस डी-सल्फराइजेशन (एफजीडी) तकनीक अब तक नहीं लगाई है. कंपनी के अधिकारी ने बताया कि आगामी वित्तीय वर्ष में इसे लगा लिया जाएगा.

इस समझौता ज्ञापन पर असम सरकार के प्रधान सचिव विद्युत डॉ. कृष्ण कुमार द्विवेदी और टाटा पावर के सीईओ एवं एमडी डॉ प्रवीर सिन्हा ने असम के मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत बिस्वा सरमा और असम सरकार के अन्य वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में हस्ताक्षर किए. इस सहयोग के हिस्से के रूप में असम सरकार लगभग 20000 एकड़ अतिक्रमण-मुक्त सरकारी भूमि की पहचान और आवंटन को पट्टे के आधार पर सुगम बनाएगी और सौर, पवन, जलविद्युत और ऊर्जा भंडारण परियोजनाओं के लिए उपयुक्त निजी भूमि के अधिग्रहण में सहायता करेगी. इसके अतिरिक्त राज्य निर्बाध संचरण कनेक्टिविटी सुनिश्चित करने और राज्य एजेंसियों के माध्यम से अक्षय ऊर्जा पार्कों की स्थापना को बढ़ावा देने के लिए बुनियादी ढांचे के विकास का समर्थन करेगा.

इस पहल में ग्रुप कैप्टिव साइटों के लिए भूमि की पहचान करना, उद्योगों और चाय बागानों को असम की भूमि आवंटन और औद्योगिक नीतियों के तहत स्वच्छ ऊर्जा तक पहुँच प्रदान करना भी शामिल होगा. परियोजना निष्पादन में तेजी लाने के लिए सरकार ने वैधानिक अनुमोदन, वित्तीय प्रोत्साहन और अक्षय क्षेत्र में नवाचार के लिए अनुसंधान संस्थानों के साथ सहयोग के लिए एकल-खिड़की मंजूरी के लिए प्रतिबद्धता जताई है. परियोजना कार्यान्वयन और संचालन के लिए प्रशिक्षित कार्यबल तैयार करने के लिए कौशल विकास कार्यक्रम भी शुरू किए जाएंगे.
