Other senior officials of Tata Steel and Re-Wi-Re, Tata Motors were present today at Tata Steel Jamshedpur Works.

Re-Wi-Re, a business model created for sustainable disposal of vehicles after their end of life, provides free doorstep End-of-Life Vehicles impact assessment and fair pricing, pickup, due diligence of documentation from corporates and relevant stakeholders. Individual vehicle parts are disposed as per environmental norms complying with Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change. At present, Re-Wi-Re has 11 centres across India with capacity to recycle 0.2 million ELVs overall. This enterprise, first time being implemented in Jharkhand, will be rolled out in other locations as well in upcoming time.

रामजी पटेल जैसे किसानों के लिए, पारंपरिक बाढ़ सिंचाई से आधुनिक स्प्रिंकलर प्रणाली में बदलाव जीवन बदलने वाला रहा है. एएफ-डब्ल्यूसीआई परियोजना के माध्यम से पंजीकृत होकर, उन्होंने 27,457 रुपये की स्प्रिंकलर प्रणाली हासिल की, जिसमें से 13,728 रुपये सरकार और परियोजना सब्सिडी के माध्यम से कवर किए गए, जिससे उनका वित्तीय बोझ काफी कम हो गया. नई प्रणाली ने सिंचाई के समय को 8-9 घंटे से घटाकर सिर्फ 4 घंटे कर दिया है, जिससे पानी की बचत हुई है और बिजली का खर्च कम हुआ है.

Ambuja has taken several initiatives toward creating a sustainable ecosystem within the building materials sector. From running its cement carrying ships on biofuels to investing in waste heat recovery systems and large captive renewable energy sources. The company has developed 2030 carbon emission reduction targets that have been validated by Science Based Target Initiatives (SBTi), and it has partnered with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), India’s SBTi Incubator Program to implement a decarbonisation roadmap.

Ambuja Cements is also investing in clean energy efforts like Waste Heat Recovery System to reduce clinker factor, energy efficiency (thermal & electrical) and use of renewable energy from waste derived resources or alternative fuels, rainwater harvesting, and optimising fuel composition. The company has tied up with the Indian Institute of Technology to develop green products like limestone calcined clay cement, which will help further reduce its carbon footprint. The company was the first cement company globally to be named to the CDP 2021 ‘A’ list for water security. It is 8 times water positive and 2.5 times plastic negative through co-processing of plastic wastes at its kilns. Ambuja Cements has also been driving increased usage of waste derived resources like fly ash and slag in making cement. The company consumed 8.6 MT of such resources in 2021.
