रोजाना 1 करोड़ रुपये तक का अवैध कारोबार

बालू तस्करी का यह खेल अब करोड़ों के मुनाफे में बदल चुका है. आंकड़ों के अनुसार:
बाजार दर: बालू की कीमत वर्तमान में लगभग 45 रुपये प्रति सीएफटी है.
कमाई का गणित: एक ट्रैक्टर में औसतन 100 सीएफटी बालू लादा जाता है, जिससे एक फेरे में करीब 4500 रुपये की कमाई होती है.• कुल कारोबार: जमशेदपुर जिले में 15 से 20 सक्रिय घाटों से रोजाना 70 लाख से 1 करोड़ रुपये तक की अवैध ढुलाई हो रही है.

MGM और कुसतुलिया में माफियाओं का राज
अवैध खनन का जाल शहर के बाहरी इलाकों तक फैला हुआ है. एमजीएम थाना क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत कुसतुलिया नदी में माफिया दिन-रात बालू निकाल रहे हैं. ग्रामीणों का आरोप है कि ट्रैक्टरों और ट्रकों की इस निरंतर आवाजाही ने न केवल सड़क खराब कर दी है, बल्कि नदी का प्राकृतिक स्वरूप भी बिगाड़ दिया है.

जल संकट और पर्यावरणीय असंतुलन का खतरा
पर्यावरण विशेषज्ञों ने चेतावनी दी है कि लगातार हो रहे अवैध खनन से क्षेत्र के जलस्तर (Groundwater Level) में भारी गिरावट आ रही है. आसपास की कृषि योग्य भूमि की उर्वरता भी प्रभावित हो रही है. यदि इस लूट पर जल्द लगाम नहीं लगाई गई, तो आने वाले समय में जमशेदपुर को भीषण जल संकट का सामना करना पड़ सकता है.

‘सफेदपोश’ संरक्षण और प्रशासनिक चुप्पी
स्थानीय लोगों का सीधा आरोप है कि इस अवैध कारोबार को कुछ प्रभावशाली ‘सफेदपोश’ नेताओं का संरक्षण प्राप्त है. यही कारण है कि पुलिस और माइनिंग विभाग कार्रवाई करने के बजाय मूकदर्शक बने हुए हैं. राजनीतिक दलों के बीच आरोप-प्रत्यारोप का दौर जारी है, लेकिन जमीनी स्तर पर माफियाओं के हौसले बुलंद हैं.
