According to official information released by the Police Headquarters’ Media Cell, the encounter began around 6 am on Thursday, when a Maoist squad came face to face with joint teams of armed security forces during an anti-Naxal operation.

Intermittent firing continued for several hours as forces launched a systematic search and cordon operation in the dense forest terrain.

During the search, security personnel recovered 15 bodies of Maoists along with a large cache of arms, ammunition and daily-use materials.

Among those killed, the identity of senior Maoist leader Anal Da, also known as Patiram Manjhi, has been confirmed.

He was a Central Committee Member (CCM) of the banned CPI (Maoist) and carried a bounty of Rs 1 crore on his head, making him one of the most wanted extremists in the region.

Kolhan DIG Anuranjan Kispotta confirmed the major development, terming it a decisive blow to Maoist activities in the Saranda and Kolhan region.

Police officials said the operation marks the biggest anti-Naxal success in Chaibasa in recent years and significantly weakens the Maoist network operating in the forested belt.

Security forces remain deployed in the area, and search operations are still underway to rule out the presence of any remaining extremists.

Detailed information regarding the encounter and the seized materials will be shared during a formal press briefing, police officials said.

The successful operation underscores the intensified and sustained campaign by Jharkhand Police and central forces to dismantle Maoist strongholds and restore peace and security in the region.

लातेहार एसपी कुमार गौरव ने बताया कि पिछले दिनों पुलिस मुठभेड़ में इस संगठन का कमांडर पप्पू लोहरा मारा गया था. सूचना मिली थी कि दो अन्य एरिया कमांडर संगठन को फिर से सक्रिय करने की कोशिश में जुटे हैं. इस पर एसडीपीओ (डीएसपी) अरविंद कुमार के नेतृत्व में लातेहार और मनिका थाना की संयुक्त पुलिस टीम बनाई गई.

सूचना के मुताबिक, सुनील उरांव अपने गांव के सदर थाना क्षेत्र के नवागढ़ के पास दिखा, जबकि मुकेश लोहरा मनिका थाना क्षेत्र के पुरनी पल्हेया गांव के आसपास छिपा था. दोनों इलाकों में बुधवार तड़के तीन से चार बजे के बीच एक साथ छापेमारी की गई और पुलिस ने दोनों उग्रवादियों को दबोच लिया.

एसपी ने बताया कि सुनील उरांव के खिलाफ लातेहार समेत आसपास के थाना क्षेत्रों में सात से अधिक केस दर्ज हैं, जबकि मुकेश लोहरा के खिलाफ दो केस दर्ज हैं. हालिया पुलिस मुठभेड़ के दौरान दोनों भाग निकले थे. उन्होंने कहा कि पुलिस की लगातार कार्रवाई से जेजेएमपी की गतिविधियां लगभग समाप्त हो चुकी हैं और संगठन में अब केवल 4-5 सदस्य बचे हैं.

पिछले छह महीनों में पुलिस ने एनकाउंटर में जेजेएमपी सुप्रीमो समेत दो नक्सलियों को ढेर किया है, जबकि कई सक्रिय उग्रवादियों ने आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया. शेष बचे उग्रवादियों के खिलाफ अभियान जारी है. छापेमारी अभियान में डीएसपी अरविंद कुमार के अलावा मनिका थाना प्रभारी शशि कुमार, लातेहार थाना प्रभारी रमाकांत गुप्ता, एसआई विक्रांत उपाध्याय, राहुल कुमार सिन्हा, विकास कुमार, धर्मवीर सिंह समेत अन्य पुलिस अधिकारियों की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही.

Officials confirmed that all captured bulls will be shifted to designated gaushalas, where they will receive proper care and necessary follow-up procedures.

The task force has been instructed to adopt scientific and humane practices throughout the operation — from tranquilising and securing the animals to their safe transportation.

Strict compliance with established animal welfare standards will be mandatory.

According to district administrative officials , the initiative marks a major step toward preventing road accidents, improving urban hygiene, and strengthening the city’s animal management system.

दिल्ली पुलिस के इस व्यापक अभियान के लिए 30 टीमें बनाई गईं, जिनमें कुल 600 पुलिसकर्मी तैनात थे और इसका नेतृत्व डीसीपी द्वारका, पश्चिम और बाहरी जिलों के मार्गदर्शन में किया गया.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने बताया कि टीमों ने बिंदापुर, डाबरी, उत्तम नगर, मोहन गार्डन, तिलक नगर और निहाल विहार जैसे क्षेत्रों में सघन जांच की, जहां अनधिकृत रूप से कई विदेशी नागरिक रह रहे थे. गिरफ्तार किए गए 260 व्यक्तियों में 210 पुरुष शामिल हैं. पकड़े गए लोगों में नाइजीरिया के सबसे ज्यादा नागरिक थे.

इसके अलावा आइवरी कोस्ट, लाइबेरिया, सेनेगल, सिएरा लियोन, घाना, कैमरून और युगांडा के नागरिकों को भी पकड़ा गया.

गिरफ्तारी के दौरान कई अफ्रीकी नागरिकों के पास नशीले पदार्थ भी बरामद किए गए. उनके पास निर्धारित अवधि से अधिक समय तक रहने वाले या समाप्त हो चुके वीजा-पासपोर्ट पाए गए. इस संबंध में अपराधियों के खिलाफ एनडीपीएस अधिनियम और 14सी विदेशी अधिनियम के तहत 26 मामले दर्ज किए गए हैं.

इसके अतिरिक्त, अवैध रूप से विदेशी नागरिकों को किराए पर मकान देने वाले 25 से ज्यादा मकान मालिकों की पहचान की गई है और उनके खिलाफ भी उचित कानूनी धाराओं के तहत मामले दर्ज किए जा रहे हैं. हालांकि सत्यापन के बाद वैध दस्तावेज वाले कुछ अफ्रीकी नागरिकों को रिहा कर दिया गया.

नशे और अवैध प्रवासियों की इस दोहरी बुराई को जड़ से खत्म करने के लिए दिल्ली पुलिस का यह सख्त रुख एक बड़ी सफलता है. दस्तावेजों का सत्यापन और आगे की मामला पंजीकरण प्रक्रिया जारी है.

दिल्ली पुलिस के अधिकारियों ने कहा कि नशीले पदार्थों के खिलाफ पुलिस लगातार कार्रवाई कर रही है और आगे भी जारी रहेगी, जिनके पास भी सही दस्तावेज पाए जाएंगे, उन नागरिकों को छोड़ दिया जाएगा.

भाजपा आईटी सेल के प्रमुख अमित मालवीय ने सोशल मीडिया पर चल रहे एक वीडियो की रिपोर्ट दी, जिसमें जैश-ए-मोहम्मद का कमांडर मसूद इलियास कश्मीरी सशस्त्र कर्मियों के साथ भारत के ‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के दौरान आतंकवादी समूह को हुए भारी नुकसान की बात स्वीकार कर रहा है.

पहलगाम आतंकी हमले के बाद भारत ने पाकिस्तान और पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले कश्मीर में जैश-ए-मोहम्मद और लश्कर-ए-तैयबा (एलईटी) के उच्च-मूल्य वाले आतंकी ठिकानों को नष्ट करके जवाबी कार्रवाई की थी.

बाद में पाकिस्तान ने स्वयं पुष्टि की कि बहावलपुर, कोटली और मुरीदके सहित नौ स्थलों पर हमला किया गया है – ये क्षेत्र लंबे समय से आतंकवादियों के गढ़ माने जाते हैं.

बहावलपुर पाकिस्तान का 12वां सबसे बड़ा शहर और जैश-ए-मोहम्मद की गतिविधियों का एक प्रमुख केंद्र है. यहां जामिया मस्जिद सुभान अल्लाह में इस आतंकी समूह का मुख्यालय है, जिसे उस्मान-ओ-अली परिसर भी कहा जाता है.

एक सभा को संबोधित करते हुए मसूद इलियास कश्मीरी ने कहा, “आतंकवाद की यह बकवास, जिसे हम अपने दिल के करीब रखते हैं, इस देश (पाकिस्तान) की वैचारिक और भौगोलिक सीमाओं के लिए, कभी हम दिल्ली से भिड़ गए, कभी काबुल से और कभी कंधार से.”

उन्होंने कहा, “सब कुछ कुर्बान करने के बाद, 7 मई को मौलाना मसूद अजहर के परिवार को, जिसमें उसकी महिलाएं और बच्चे भी शामिल थे, बहावलपुर में मार डाला गया और टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दिया गया.”

संयुक्त राष्ट्र द्वारा आतंकवादी घोषित मसूद अजहर द्वारा कश्मीर में जिहाद का आह्वान किए जाने के बाद 2000 के दशक के प्रारंभ में गठित जैश-ए-मोहम्मद ने भारतीय धरती पर कई हमले किए हैं.

‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के सटीक हमलों के बाद, पाकिस्तानी मीडिया ने यह भी बताया कि अजहर ने स्वयं स्वीकार किया कि भारतीय हमले में उसके परिवार के 10 सदस्य मारे गए.
