Udit vani, Jamshedpur: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) has issued an urgent appeal to the Deputy Commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan, Nitish Kumar Singh and Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Karn Satyarthi regarding a critical shortage of commercial LPG that is paralyzing industrial operations throughout the Kolhan division.

Global Energy Crisis Impacts Local Production
In an official letter, SCCI President Manav Kedia emphasized that the current scarcity is a direct fallout of the global energy crisis fueled by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. This shortage is severely hindering the daily production capabilities of numerous ancillary industries across the region.

Threat to Major Industrial Supply Chains
The Chamber highlighted that these ancillary units are the backbone of the regional economy, providing essential components to major industrial leaders, such as Tata Motors, Tata Steel and Tata Growth Shop.

As commercial LPG is a fundamental raw material for various manufacturing processes, the SCCI warned that a lack of priority allocation will lead to severe production declines. This could effectively “choke” the operations of these mega-industries and disrupt the entire supply chain.

Gap in Government Allocation Policy
The SCCI pointed out a stark discrepancy between official government directives and the reality on the ground. Although recent circulars from government agencies mandated an increase in commercial LPG allocation by 20% to 70% for commercial consumers, local industries report that this increased supply has not yet materialized.

Formal Appeals and Strategic Coordination
To support their claim, the SCCI submitted several request letters from local industries detailing their operational struggles. To facilitate a swift resolution, copies of this urgent appeal have been forwarded to senior petroleum officials, including:

Sourav Chandra, General Manager (LPG), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL), Ranchi.
Sameer Sinha, Area Manager (Consumer Sales), IOCL, Ranchi.
Akhil Pachauri, Regional Manager, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (HPCL), Ranchi.

The Chamber is calling for immediate official cognizance and priority intervention to stabilize the industrial output and economic health of the Kolhan region.
