The tournament, which commenced on May 12, will continue through May 24 and has attracted more than 80 participants from Jamshedpur, Ranchi, and Hazaribagh.

In a significant milestone for the state’s cue sports scene, this year’s edition has introduced women’s events for the first time, featuring competitions in Billiards, Snooker, and 6 Reds Snooker, marking a major step toward greater inclusivity in the sport.

The day witnessed several thrilling contests across categories.

In the Men’s Billiards category, Aman Kumar secured two impressive victories, first defeating Dipak Parikh 207–145 and later edging past Sushant Sinha in a closely fought encounter, 248–230.

Mohit Manik registered a commanding 171–48 win over Kush Adesara, while Sumit Agarwal overcame Madhav Harpal with a score of 205–130.

Anish Parikh delivered one of the standout performances of the day, dominating Mohit Manik 367–143.

In the Boys’ Under-21 Snooker event, Aayush Kumar defeated Md. Imran 2–1 in an exciting three-frame match, with frame scores of 72–60, 46–47, and 66–19.

Yashwant Rao also advanced comfortably, securing a straight-frame 2–0 victory over Dilansh Patni, with scores of 40–30 and 68–25.

The highlight of the day came in the Women’s 6 Reds Snooker final, where Susma Khanal showcased exceptional skill and composure to defeat Pratima Kumari 3–0.

The frame scores stood at 43–32, 49–13, and 43–12, earning Susma the distinction of becoming the Women’s 6 Reds Snooker State Champion.

The ongoing championship reflects the growing popularity of billiards and snooker in Jharkhand, with emerging young talent and increasing participation from women adding a new dimension to the sport in the state.
