जैन 1 जुलाई 2025 को दो साल के निश्चित कार्यकाल के लिए पदभार ग्रहण करेंगे। पराग जैन सिन्हा के बाद दूसरे नंबर पर थे। उन्होंने आतंकवाद निरोधक विशेषज्ञ माना जाता है और उन्हें खास तौर पर अफगानिस्तान-पाकिस्तान क्षेत्र में विशेषज्ञता हासिल है। अफगानिस्तान-पाकिस्तान क्षेत्र पर विशेष ध्यान देने वाले आतंकवाद निरोधी विशेषज्ञ के रूप में उनकी विशेषज्ञता, विशेष रूप से सीमा पार आतंकी नेटवर्क को डिकोड करने में, आने वाले वर्षों में रॉ की स्थिति को आकार देने की उम्मीद है।

जैन की नियुक्ति भारत के कुछ सबसे संवेदनशील सुरक्षा परिदृश्यों में सामने आई है। वह वर्तमान में एविएशन रिसर्च सेंटर का नेतृत्व कर रहे हैं। जैन को ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के दौरान खुफिया प्रयासों को आगे बढ़ाने का श्रेय दिया जाता है। इस मिशन के तहत भारतीय सेना ने पहलगाम में हुए आतंकी हमले के बाद पाकिस्तान और पीओके में 9 आंतकी ठिकानों पर लक्षित हमले किए और उनको तबाह किया था।

बता दें रिसर्च एंड एनालिसिस विंग भारत की विदेशी खुफिया एजेंसी है। 1968 से पहले, इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो (आईबी) ही देश के अंदर और बाहर, दोनों तरह की खुफिया जानकारी जुटाने का काम करता था। लेकिन, 1962 के भारत-चीन युद्ध और 1965 के भारत-पाकिस्तान युद्ध के बाद और सटीकता से विदेशी खुफिया जानकारी इकट्ठा करने के लिए एक अलग एजेंसी की जरूरत महसूस की गई। इसी जरूरत को पूरा करने के लिए ‘रॉ’ का गठन किया गया।

रॉ भारत की राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा पर सीधा असर डालने वाले पड़ोसी देशों के घटनाक्रमों पर नजर रखती है। भारत के राष्ट्रीय हितों की रक्षा के लिए गुप्त अभियान चलाना भी इसके मुख्य कार्यों में शामिल है। ऐसे ही भारत के लिए खतरा पैदा करने वाले आतंकी तत्वों को निष्क्रिय करना भी रॉ के कार्यों में शामिल है। रॉ दूसरे देशों में सक्रिय उन समूहों की जानकारी इकट्ठा करती है जो भारत की सुरक्षा और अखंडता के लिए खतरा हैं, और उन्हें निष्क्रिय करने का भी कार्य करती है।

• Gauravi Reddy is a prolific dancer. She has been performing at various programmes and is very passionate about Indian culture.
• Sambhab Mishra has numerous articles to his credit and is also the recipient of prestigious fellowships. I congratulate him on being conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar
• Shreya Bhattacharjee is a tabla artist who has a record for playing the Tabla for the longest duration. She has also been honoured at forums like the Cultural Olympiad of Performing Arts.
• Rohan Ramchandra Bahir, jumped into a river and saved a woman from drowning. He displayed great bravery and fearlessness.
• Aditya Pratap Singh Chauhan has been awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar for his strides in innovation. He has been working on developing a cost effective technology for ensuring clean water
• Rishi Shiv Prasanna is passionate about developing Apps. He is equally interested in science as well as popularising it among the youth.
• Anoushka Jolly has shown remarkable compassion and innovation. She is diligently working on an App and other online programmes to spread awareness against bullying.
• Hanaya Nisar has represented India in various martial arts competitions. She has won various laurels. Proud of her accomplishments.
• Shauryajit Ranjit kumar Khaire won immense admiration for his success in the 2022 National Games. He is a powerhouse of talent when it comes to Mallakhamb.
• Kumari Kolagatla Alana Meenakshi is a distinguished chess. Her successes in chess have made her shine in various competitions globally.

The Award is conferred by the President of India in the week preceding Republic Day, 26 January,^[5] in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
