The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Siddhant Kumar, District Labour Superintendent Avinash Thakur, Assistant Director (Social Security Cell) Mr. Khushendra Sonkesri, District Child Protection Officer Mrs. Punita Tiwari, along with other officials.

At the outset, the compliance report of directives issued in the previous meeting was reviewed, followed by a detailed discussion on the progress of Mission Vatsalya schemes including Sponsorship, Foster Care, and Child Care Institutions.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar directed officials to ensure that benefits of child-centric schemes launched by the State and Central Government reach the eligible children in a timely and transparent manner for their holistic development.

He further instructed the labour department to co-ordinate with the education department to ensure proper schooling arrangements for children of workers employed in brick kilns.

The DC also asked officials to expedite the process of transferring a vacant school building in Chakradharpur for setting up a Special Adoption Agency.

District Child Protection Officer Tiwari informed that under the Sponsorship Scheme, 237 children have already been covered, and in today’s Sponsorship-Foster Care Approval Committee meeting, 101 new children were added under Sponsorship, while 7 children were approved under Foster Care.

Beneficiaries under both schemes are entitled to receive Rs 4,000 per month as financial assistance.

During the review, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized strict measures to curb child trafficking and directed that Child Helpline No. 1098 and Integrated Helpline No. 112 must be displayed at all schools and Anganwadi centres, along with awareness posters.

He also instructed the Superintendent of Child Care Homes to collaborate with interested NGOs through non-financial MoUs for providing skill development training to children residing in these homes.

निजी वाहन की बजाय साइकिल या सार्वजनिक परिवहन का उपयोग करें.
घर और कार्यालय में सौर ऊर्जा जैसे नवीकरणीय विकल्पों को अपनाएं.
पेड़ लगाने वाली संस्थाओं को सहयोग दें या स्वयं वृक्षारोपण करें.
जलवायु परिवर्तन से जुड़ी पुस्तकें पढ़ें, लेखों के माध्यम से जागरूकता बढ़ाएं.
अपने जनप्रतिनिधियों से सख्त पर्यावरण नीति की मांग करें ताकि ग्रीनहाउस गैसों पर नियंत्रण पाया जा सके.

इस अवसर पर, 22 नवंबर, 2024 को विद्यालय परिसर में आयोजित पर्यावरण संबंधी निबंध प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को सम्मानित किया गया. प्रतियोगिता का विषय था – “मैं तो आपका मित्र हूं फिर मुझे अपराधियों की तरह पिंजरे में कैद की सजा क्यों?”. इस निबंध प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को समाजसेवी नव किशोर कुंभकार द्वारा पुरस्कृत किया गया.
