According to the weather bulletin, isolated places in Dumka, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Giridih, Bokaro, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela-Kharswan are likely to receive heavy rainfall on June 12.

The following day, June 13, heavy rain is expected at isolated locations in Dumka, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Sahibganj, Pakur, and Godda districts.

The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds.

On June 12, wind speeds of 50-60 kmph are likely over parts of Dhanbad, Bokaro, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Khunti, and Ramgarh, while the remaining districts may experience winds ranging between 40 and 50 kmph. Similar weather conditions are expected to prevail on June 13.

Prior to the heavy rain spell, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are also likely across the state on June 10 and 11, with the north-eastern and adjoining central districts expected to witness the most intense weather activity.

The weather developments coincide with favourable conditions for the further advance of the southwest monsoon into Jharkhand and adjoining eastern India.

Meteorologists believe the monsoon could make significant progress across the state during the next three to four days, bringing widespread rainfall and a respite from the prevailing heat.

Residents have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorm activity, avoid open fields and tall structures during lightning, and follow weather advisories issued by local authorities.
