Along with petrol and diesel, CNG prices have also gone up by Re 1, adding pressure on commuters and commercial vehicle operators alike.

With the latest revision effective from Saturday, Motor Spirit (petrol) now costs Rs 102.61 per litre, up from Rs 101.73, while High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has increased from Rs 96.66 to Rs 97.61 per litre.

The price of Speed petrol has also climbed from Rs 110.67 to Rs 111.54 per litre.

This marks the third consecutive fuel price hike after earlier revisions on May 15 and May 19, indicating a sustained upward trend in retail fuel rates.

“The prices are rising too frequently, and it’s becoming difficult to manage monthly expenses,” said Rakesh Sharma, a daily commuter in Jamshedpur.

Another customer at a city petrol pump, Anupama Verma, expressed concern, saying, “Every increase in fuel rates affects everything—from travel costs to household essentials. The burden eventually falls on common people.”

With repeated hikes unsettling consumers, many fear the increase will soon reflect in public transport fares and market prices, adding yet another challenge for residents already dealing with inflation.
