मुख्य वक्ता सुरेश चंद्र सोय, माधव चंद्र कुंकल, रेयांस सायड व दिनकर कच्छप ने कहा कि विकास के नाम पर ग्राम सभाओं की अनदेखी संविधान के पांचवीं अनुसूची, PESA 1996, वन अधिकार कानून 2006 व भूमि अधिग्रहण अधिनियम 2013 का उल्लंघन है. उन्होंने ग्राम सभा की पूर्व सहमति के बिना परियोजनाओं का विरोध किया और गांव केंद्रित विकास की मांग उठाई. संसाधनों के बंटवारे के बावजूद स्थानीय आजीविका प्रभावित होने पर चिंता जताई.

सभा में जबरन अधिग्रहण व कॉरपोरेट हितों के विरुद्ध लोकतांत्रिक विरोध का प्रस्ताव पारित हुआ. राधाकृष्णन सिंह मुंडा, जगन्नाथ सिंह मुंडा, धनंजय शुक्ला, टोनी दिप्ती मेरी मिंज, राकेश रंजन माहतो सहित अनेक उपस्थित रहे. दलमा को पहचान व धरोहर बताते हुए ग्राम सभाओं की एकजुटता पर जोर दिया गया.

पटमदा क्षेत्र में ड्रोसेरा बर्मानी (Drosera burmannii) नामक मांसाहारी पौधे की पहचान की गई है, जबकि बालीगुमा और कोंकादाशा क्षेत्रों में यूटिकुलेरिया (Utricularia) प्रजाति भी पाई गई. ये पौधे कीटों और सूक्ष्म जीवों को फंसाकर अपना पोषण प्राप्त करते हैं, जो पर्यावरणीय संतुलन बनाए रखने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं.

फॉरेस्ट गार्ड सह शोधार्थी राजा घोष ने बताया कि इन पौधों की जानकारी वरीय अधिकारियों को दे दी गई है. इनके संरक्षण के लिए संबंधित क्षेत्रों में मानव प्रवेश को नियंत्रित किया जाएगा. वन विभाग का कहना है कि यह खोज दलमा के प्राकृतिक आवास की समृद्धि और बेहतर संरक्षण प्रयासों का प्रमाण है.

At the heart of this revamp will be a spectacular ropeway glass bridge—poised to become the sanctuary’s star attraction.

State tourism minister Sudivya Kumar Sonu announced that the upcoming glass bridge, stretching nearly 200 feet, will offer visitors an exhilarating “walk in the air” experience.

Suspended at a thrilling height, the bridge will provide panoramic views of Dalma’s lush forests, rolling hills and serene landscapes.

Dalma DFO Saba Alam confirmed that the ropeway glass bridge is expected to welcome tourists within the new year.

“The DPR (Detailed Project Report) is being finalized and will soon be sent to the department. Several other components of the project are also progressing swiftly,” he said.

Rs 200-Crore Plan to Build a World-Class Tourism Hub
The Jharkhand government will invest over Rs 200 crore to elevate Dalma into an international-grade destination. Key developments under the project include:

* Ropeway Glass Bridge: A thrilling 200-foot-long aerial walkway.
* New Tourist Cottages: Construction of 30 cottages—15 in Makulakocha and 15 in Pindrabera.

Enhanced Safari Facilities: Addition of 10 new safari vehicles to cater to rising tourist numbers.

Boost to Homestays: Expansion of homestay initiatives to ensure local community participation and employment generation.

Initiative Sparked by Local Leadership
The project gained momentum after Jugsalai MLA Mangal Kalindi urged the government to develop Dalma Sanctuary along the lines of Tirupati Balaji.

Responding to his persistent demand in the Assembly and public addresses, minister Sonu inspected Dalma and directed officials to expedite the upgrade.

Dalma Top to Get a Visual Makeover
The tourism department will also beautify Dalma Top, enhancing road connectivity and visitor facilities.

A landscaped park is planned at the summit, offering families a serene picnic spot alongside the popular jungle safari.

Organized with the objective of promoting butterfly conservation, the festival will include guided butterfly walks, identification sessions, and interactive discussions led by eminent experts such as Dr. V.P. Uniyal, Dr. Vandana, and Debanjana Basu, a well-known butterfly conservationist. The sessions are designed to help participants understand butterfly ecology, recognize different species, and appreciate their role as natural pollinators and indicators of environmental health.

Participants are expected to spot vibrant species including the Blue Mormon, Common Jezebel, Common Nawab, and Tailed Jay, among others, fluttering across the sanctuary’s verdant landscape.

The trek was planned right after the final exams to help students relax, refresh, and recharge. It began from Maukulakocha, a small village at the foot of the Dalma Hills. The students eagerly walked through the hills, enjoying the beauty of nature. Navigating the steep and rugged trails was a way to test their physical strength and endurance. Despite unpredictable weather, they continued step by step, feeling proud of their achievements.

Father Vinod Fernandes, SJ, the Principal, said that such activities help reduce stress, build confidence, and prepare the students to face challenges in life. He added that these experiences boost self-esteem, strengthen friendships, develop teamwork, and create self-awareness. Outdoor activities also help students appreciate nature and become more responsible toward the environment.

The trek was led by experienced guides and forest department guards to ensure safety of one and all. Special thanks to DFO, Mr. Saba Alam Ansari, for allowing the students to trek in the Dalma range and for providing all necessary facilities. We also appreciate Mr. Mazharul Bari for demonstrating emergency rescue techniques and Mr. Sheela Aditya Acharya, Mr. Hari Prasad, and other Dalma Forest Department officials for guiding and taking care of the students.

The trek was organized by the Games co-ordinator Sir, Dale Anthony Passagne, with the assistance of other senior games teachers.

उदित वाणी, जमशेदपुर:  सरायकेला-खरसावां जिला के चांडिल प्रखंड अंतर्गत दलमा वाइल्ड लाइफ सैंक्चुरी में 2 अक्टूबर से 8 अक्टूबर तक वन्य प्राणी सप्ताह मनाया जाता है. इस कड़ी में कई कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन किया जाता है.

इसी क्रम में आज हथिनी रजनी का 13वां जन्मदिन मनाया गया. रजनी के जन्मदिन के मौके पर 14 पाउंड का केक भी काटा गया. कार्यक्रम में स्कूली बच्चे, वनरक्षी और पदाधिकारी के साथ ग्रामीण भी शामिल हुए.

दलमा पश्चिमी रेंजर दिनेश चंद्रा ने बताया कि इस तरह के कार्यक्रम से लोगों में एक अच्छा संदेश जाता है. कहा कि जब हम अपने घर के बच्चों का जन्मदिन मना सकते हैं तो वन्य प्राणी का क्यों नहीं. उन्होंने कहा कि रजनी के जन्मदिन पर लोगों को जंगली जानवरों के प्रति जागरूक करना भी एक मुख्य उद्देश्य है.

जानवरों की सुरक्षा का दिया जा रहा संदेश
दिनेश चंद्रा ने कहा कि रजनी के जन्मदिन को लेकर वन विभाग यह संदेश देना चाहता है कि जानवर भी पृथ्वी के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं और उनका भी अपना महत्व है. इसी संदेश को ध्यान में रखकर जन्मदिन मनाया जाता है.

उन्होंने कहा कि वन विभाग यह प्रयास कर रहा है कि दूसरे भी इससे सीख लें और जानवरों की सुरक्षा का संदेश देने के लिए इसे आत्मसात करें.

2009 में झुंड से बिछड़ गई थी रजनी, गड्ढे फंसी मिली थी
झुंड में रहने वाली मादा हाथी रजनी वर्ष 2009 में हाथियों की झुंड से बिछड़ गई थी. इसके बाद वन विभाग को वह एक गड्ढे में फंसी मिली थी. घायल अवस्था में उसे निकालकर टाटा जू लाया गया था, जहां काफी दिनों तक टाटा जू के डक्टर एम पालित की देख रेख में रजनी का इलाज हुआ. जब रजनी ठीक हो गई तो उसे माकूला कोचा के दलमा वन्य प्राणी आश्रयणी लाया गया.

दलमा के मकुलाकोचा चेक नाका में बकायदा इस हथिनी का नामकरण रजनी के रूप में किया गया. उसी समय से रजनी का जन्मदिन धूमधाम से मनाया जा रहा है.
