Entry to the convocation hall will be permitted through passes. During the review, the Examination Department reported that the signing of all certificates has been completed. The Vice Chancellor took detailed updates regarding seating arrangements, the designated space for the ceremonial procession, the area allotted for attire preparations for the chief guest, and vehicle parking arrangements. The briefing, conducted at the University’s Sidhgora campus under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Anjila Gupta, witnessed the presence of key university officials and members of the media fraternity.

Welcoming the journalists, Proctor Dr. Sudhir Kumar Sahu opened the session, following which Vice-Chancellor Prof. Gupta expressed gratitude to the media for its continuous support and for highlighting the achievements of the students.

She emphasized the institution’s commitment to timely examinations, swift results, and academic excellence—values reflected in the scale and significance of the forthcoming convocation.

The University announced that a total of 1,068 students will be awarded degrees this year, of which 713 have completed their registration for the ceremony.

The chief guest for the event will be Governor and Chancellor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, whose arrival has now been rescheduled to 12:45 pm.

All invited guests must reach the venue by 12 pm, while degree recipients have been instructed to report by 10 am.

Providing further details, Controller of Examinations Dr. Rama Subramaniam stated that the ceremony will also honour 25 gold medallists and 17 rank holders.

Each gold medal has been intricately crafted—40 grams of pure silver with a gold coating—and will be presented in personalized boxes bearing the recipient’s name. Awardees may attend the event along with their parents.

The University has also announced a mandatory dress code for graduating students:

White salwar-suit with a red dupatta, or White/cream saree with a red border.

Preparations at the XLRI Auditorium have been finalized, with all logistical arrangements and technical checks completed.

During the press briefing, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the prestigious “Dr. Rekha Jha Medal for Excellence in Economics”, instituted in memory of the former Head of the Economics Department.

The award, sponsored by her husband Varun Jha, will be presented this year to Shraddha Sinha, the topper of the Postgraduate Economics programme.

The recognition includes a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

The University’s annual souvenir was also introduced to the media.

This year’s edition features key updates on NEP internships, and achievements in sports and cultural activities.
