Tata Motors Workers Union Polls: 128 Nomination Papers Filed

UditVani, Jamshedpur: The race for Tata Motors Workers Union polls hots up with 128 candidates filing their nomination papers today.
The union polls will take place on November 26.
As per the previously announced program, the submission of nomination papers was notified between 10 am and 3 pm today.
Union sources said the process went off smoothly in which a total of 128 nomination papers were submitted.
In all 137 nomination papers were distributed yesterday.
The chief electoral officer Chidanand Khandai notified today that the inspection of ballot paper sample will be carried out at the Central Director’s Office on November 25 between 11 am and 3 pm.
Earlier this week, the election rules of union polls were published alongwith this, area wise list was issued to 85 committee members for conducting elections in 50 areas.
The maximum committee members would be in World Truck Assembly Line with six committee members.
There will be four committee members each in the first assembly line, second assembly line and frame shop.
There are three constituencies in which three committee members will be elected, 15 constituencies with two committee members and 28 constituencies.
Election Schedule:
November 19 – Election rules, publication of constituency, claims – application for objection.
November 20 – Final publication of constituency, publication of voter list, claims – application for objection.
November 21 – Final publication of voter list and distribution of nomination papers.
November 22 – Submission of nomination papers and publication of list of nomination papers.
November 23 – Scrutiny of nomination papers, publication of list of candidates.
November 25 – Return of nomination papers and final publication of the list of candidates, distribution of ballot paper samples and identity cards to the candidates.
November 26 – Voting from 8 am to 5 pm, department wise.
November 26 – From 6 pm till the end of counting of votes and meeting of newly elected committee members, election of co-option, election of office bearers.
Elections will be held to elect 85 committee member and 25 office bearers of the union.
