UditVani, Jamshedpur: The 17th Jharkhand State Elite Boxing Championships 2024-25 came to a thrilling conclusion with a grand closing ceremony held at the JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday.
The event, organized by Tata Steel UISL in collaboration with the Jharkhand Boxing Association, featured exceptional boxing talent from across the state, culminating in two days of intense competition.
Exciting Matches and Outstanding Performances
With 113 participants representing 15 districts of Jharkhand, the championship showcased the state’s boxing prowess. A total of 79 matches were contested, with fighters in both Men’s and Women’s categories battling for supremacy. After two days of electrifying bouts, the final matches resulted in impressive medal tallies:
- Men’s Category: 13 gold, 13 silver, and 25 bronze medals
- Women’s Category: 6 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze medals
East Singhbhum emerged as the overall champion in both categories, cementing its dominance in the state.
Honoring the Champions
During the closing ceremony, the winners and runners-up were honored for their exceptional performances. Medals and certificates were awarded to celebrate their achievements, marking the culmination of a highly successful championship.

The closing ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Mukul Vinayak Chaudhuri, Chief, Sports, Tata Steel; Devi Prasad Panthala, Chief Divisional Manager, Tata Steel UISL; Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head of Sports, Tata Steel; Anand Bihari Dubey, Secretary, Jharkhand Boxing Association; Deepak Shrivastava, Vice President, Jharkhand Boxing Association and Head of Administration, OMQ; and Rajib Verma, Treasurer, Jharkhand Boxing Association.
