UditVani, Jamshedpur: Tarapore School celebrated its 19th Annual Sports Day on Sunday, 17th November 2024, with great zeal and excitement at the JRD Tata Sports Complex.
The event saw active participation from students across various grades, and was graced by the presence of Firoz Khan as the Chief Guest. Khan, a Senior Sports Administrator at Tata Steel Limited and a Coach for the Indian Handball team, inspired the young athletes with his words of encouragement and support.
The day’s events kicked off with a vibrant March Past, led by the school’s student leaders, followed by the students from classes IX to XII. The students impressed the audience with their impeccable drill performances, which showcased their discipline, teamwork, and dedication to excellence.
The highlight of the day was the recognition of outstanding athletes across various categories. In the sub-junior category, Madhusudan Tamsoy was awarded the Best Athlete (Boys), while Komal Kumari took home the award for the Best Athlete (Girls). In the junior category, Dharmal Mardi emerged as the Best Athlete (Boys), with Khushi Kumari winning the title for Best Athlete (Girls). The senior category saw Utkarsh Kumar being declared the Best Athlete (Boys) and Vedika Kumari being awarded the Best Athlete (Girls).
The prestigious title of Best Sportsperson of the Year was awarded to Jasdeep Singh, who also received the trophy for his exceptional performances throughout the year.
The coveted March Past Trophy was won by the Jade House, with Garnet House securing the runner-up position. The overall championship trophy was claimed by Amber House, with Garnet House finishing as the runners-up.
The event was a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and the commitment of Tarapore School’s students towards athletic excellence. The day ended on a high note, with proud moments for both the students and the school community.
