UditVani, Jamshedpur: A group of fifty students from J H Tarapore school, Datkidih accompanied by one teacher visited the CSIR-NML under the CSIR-Jigyasa program. The main objective of the program was to establish connections with school teachers and senior students and to make learning science interesting.
The aim of organizing this visit was to exchange information and encourage the participation of students in developing innovative scientific content on a virtual platform.
A detailed plan was made to make the visit enjoyable and interactive for the students and teachers.
In the morning all the students registered themselves for the day-long laboratory visit. An inaugural program was arranged and they were informed about the agenda for the entire day.
Dr. Mita Tarafder, Chief Scientist and Head, KRIT Division, CSIR-NML delivered the welcome address. In her address, she introduced CSIR-NML as one of the leading research organizations in India with five core R&D divisions and three R&D support divisions having state-of-the-art research facilities. She also briefly explained certain learning concepts like Bloom’s Taxonomy which were very impressive.
Dr. Aniket Dutt, a Project Scientist from the KRIT Division team gave a short presentation on the CSIR-Jigyasa portal. The team helped the students and teachers who showed interest to subscribe to the Youtube channel of the Jigyasa program.
The day-long program included a visit to some research laboratories, workshops, and KRIT Division and visiting the CSIR-NML museum and library. The participants were very happy with the overall experience.
