Udit Vani Ranchi: Voting for the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand concludes today, marking the end of a two-phase election process. The fate of political leaders has been sealed in the EVMs, and all eyes are now on the exit poll results, which will be announced this evening after 6:30 PM.
To form a government in Jharkhand, a party or coalition needs a minimum of 42 seats out of the total 81. The counting of votes is scheduled for Saturday, November 23.
This election witnessed intense campaigning, with various critical issues concerning the state taking center stage.
The polls have largely been a two-way battle between the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The JMM-Congress-RJD alliance is seeking re-election, while the BJP-AJSU alliance aims to regain power, capitalizing on corruption allegations against the Hemant Soren-led government and pushing its anti-infiltration narrative.
Congress Opts Out of Exit Polls
The Congress Party has announced that it will not participate in the exit polls to be telecast after the conclusion of the election process today.
