
UditVani, Jamshedpur : IPS officer Ajit Kumar, from the 2016 batch, has been appointed as the Superintendent of Police (Rail), Jamshedpur.
Known for his tough and proactive policing, Kumar has earlier served as City SP in Ranchi and Dhanbad, where he earned praise for action against organized crime.
The Jamshedpur rail division, often troubled by thefts, snatching, and anti-social activities, is seen as a challenging posting.
With his track record of discipline and ground-level action, Kumar is expected to focus on passenger safety, crime control, and restoring confidence in railway policing.
Passengers and other rail users can also heave a shy of relief as they can look forward to drastic fall in crime rate with the appointment of the new railway SP.
Sources said that the new railway SP would spoon convene department meeting to take stock of the revealing situation so that he can take appropriate action to reduce crime and other anti- social activities in the region.
