UditVani, Jamshedpur: The hugs and the smiles will never end as the gang of girls will meet , some after three decades during the reunion of Sacred Heart Convent School’s 1991 batch to be held in Jamshedpur for three days between December 19 and 21.
The reunion will be an extraordinary display of friendship and nostalgia, as the ex-students from across the globe will gather in Jamshedpur after 33 years.
In all 75 girls of the Class of 1991, will be here – with 30 from overseas and five locals.
Most of them are coming to Jamshedpur after 25+ years.
Visit to Alma mater :
During the homecoming the former students will visit their Northern Town school building , make a donation to the school, stroll down impeccably maintained grounds, the all-important corridors where best friends swapped gossip and notes, classrooms and the library.
Then, dance, songs, games and fun will galore for a memorable evening by themselves and with some teachers who taught the girls while they were in school.
Diverse Group of Alumni Across the Globe :
Despite the geographic distances, all paths will converge in Jamshedpur. The event will bring together a diverse group of alumni, with attendees traveling from various corners of the world.
The attendees also include homemakers.
Some journeyed from vibrant cities like London, NewYork, and Vancouver, while others came from as far as Sydney, Melbourne, Dubai, and Hongkong.
Representatives from Texas, Washington DC, and San Francisco Bay Area are also in attendance, alongside those from major Indian cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.
The reunion also sees alumni from distant locations including Yanbu, KSA, Bucharest, Romania, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Singapore
The diverse profiles of the ex-students attending the reunion in Jamshedpur highlight the varied and accomplished paths they’ve taken since their school days.
Seasoned Professionals :
Among the group are seasoned professionals, a Head of Finance for a Belgian food manufacturing company in the UK, and a CFO with Waters Corporation in India.
Several are entrepreneurs, including one who recently opened a food business after 25 years in banking, and another who has spent over two decades in international trade, working across 30 countries.
There are also educators, with a Grade 11 and 12 teacher boasting over 20 years of experience, alongside HR professionals, a Program Manager at a startup, and a Strategic Supply Chain expert from Intel.
Some have carved careers in technology, with a Director of Software Engineering and a Product Manager for TikTok Ecommerce in the USA.
The creative field is well-represented by a photographer and painter, a columnist for a photography magazine, and an entrepreneur running a nursery school in Qatar.
The group also includes a Compliance Executive, a Financial Advisor, and a Physiotherapist, showcasing the incredible breadth of careers and industries in which these alumni have excelled.
With such varied experiences, the reunion is a testament to the many remarkable journeys these individuals have embarked on since leaving their alma mater.
Shared memories, and a strong sense of connection will fill the air. The event serves as a reminder of the enduring bonds forged years ago, as old friends reunite and create new memories to cherish for years to come.
Credentials of Sacred Heart Convent :
The CISCE-affiliated Sacred Heart Convent School, one of the most reputable institutions of the state, was started by the Apostolic Carmelite nuns in 1945.
Its contribution to women’s education is immense, with many students going on to become educators, bankers, engineers, actors and more, in India and abroad.
Hoardings to welcome ex- students :
Meanwhile, the city is sprung with hoardings to welcome the ladies and that sources say that this is possibly the largest congregation of batch mates in a reunion.
Hoardings welcoming the former students have been put up in various strategic locations across the city.
