UditVani, Jamshedpur: The Ministry of Ayush’s innovative workplace wellness initiative, Yoga Break at Workplace (Y-Break), has been honored with a Certificate of Appreciation for its outstanding performance on the iGOT Karmayogi Bharat Platform. Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), presented the award to Dr. Kashinath Samagandi, Director of the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), during the Valedictory Ceremony of the National Learning Week – Karmayogi Saptah, held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The Y-Break course emerged as the top-performing course on the iGOT platform, with an impressive 868,094 government officials successfully completing the program. This milestone highlights the initiative’s widespread acceptance and its effectiveness in promoting health and well-being among working professionals.
The Y-Break Protocol is a carefully designed, five-minute yoga routine aimed at helping employees de-stress, refresh, and refocus during their workday. It includes simple yet powerful practices such as Tadasana, Urdhva Hastottanasana, Prasarita Padottanasana, and Nadisodhana Pranayama, all of which are tailored to enhance immunity, reduce stress, and improve both mental and physical health—even in the midst of a busy schedule.
A trial with 717 participants from 35 government and private organizations yielded overwhelmingly positive results. Participants reported increased focus, reduced stress levels, and improved immunity, underscoring the program’s transformative impact.
Recognizing the traditional gap in focus on employee health within workplaces, the Ministry of Ayush introduced this protocol to address this need. The program has proven effective across diverse sectors, ranging from factory workers to academic professionals, demonstrating its universal applicability. Practicing the Y-Break protocol for just five minutes twice a day fosters a balanced integration of mind and body, ultimately boosting productivity and enhancing overall workplace well-being.
While congratulating the efforts of MDNIY, Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Ayush, emphasized, “Fitness is key to better workplace performance, and the Ministry of Ayush is committed to encouraging self-care through yoga. I commend Team Ayush and MDNIY for creating such an impactful program.”
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, further stated, “Our goal is to develop practical yoga initiatives, like the Y-Break program, that seamlessly integrate into employees’ schedules, helping them stay energized and productive throughout the day.”
This Ministry of Ayush encourages both public and private organizations to adopt this initiative, ensuring healthier, happier, and more productive workplaces across the country.
