
UditVani, Jamshedpur : SIGMA-oikos, the social impact committee of XLRI Jamshedpur, organised the 9th Social Entrepreneurship Conclave (SEC-9) on the theme “Labour Aspirations in Viksit Bharat”, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, labour representatives, and academics to deliberate on India’s changing labour and livelihood landscape.
Around 250 students from XLRI and other institutions participated in the conclave, reflecting strong youth engagement on issues of skills, dignity of labour, and inclusive growth.
The first panel, “Building Skills and Dignity for the Unorganized Sector,” focused on skilling, formalisation, and worker welfare, while the second session, “Raising Aspirations in Agriculture and Allied Sectors,” explored structural shifts in agriculture and agri-entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with the 3rd edition of the XLRI Jamshedpur Emerging Social Entrepreneur of the Year (XL-JESEY) Awards, recognising impactful rural and agri-based enterprises. Four social entrepreneurs – Nishant Kumar (Kingfisheries Farms), Jayanti Pradhan (Gopal BioTech Agro Farm), Biswajit Bordoloi (Assam Green Tech), and Preeti Singh (Vasundhara Biofibers) – were awarded Rs 1 lakh each.
The conclave ended with a formal vote of thanks, marking the successful close of SEC-9 and the XL-JESEY Awards.
