UditVani, Jamshedpur : XLRI Jamshedpur’s student body, Team Samarthya, carried forward its social outreach mission by conducting Paakhi, a menstrual hygiene awareness drive, at Kerala Public School, Kadma.
Designed to break taboos and instill confidence in young girls, the session was organized in association with Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC).
More than 120 students aged 11 and above participated in the workshop, which blended medical expertise with interactive peer learning.
Medical students Ruhani, Anjan, and their colleagues from MTMC led engaging discussions on hygiene, nutrition, and emotional well-being, while Samarthya volunteers Nehal, Samyak, Anshi, and Anushtha facilitated the program. The safe and open environment encouraged participants to ask questions and share personal experiences, making the session both informative and relatable.
“By initiating conversations around menstrual health, Paakhi helps young girls approach this natural process with dignity and confidence,” said Ruhani, representing the MTMC team.
Team Samarthya members added that their long-term vision is to spark a ripple effect, where empowered adolescents can influence their families and communities.
Having become a regular feature in schools across Jamshedpur, Paakhi continues to reinforce XLRI’s broader goal of cultivating leaders who are not only professionally competent but also socially responsible.
