
UditVani, Jamshedpur : Panic gripped Utkramit Prathmik Vidyalaya, Ichahatu, under Kadamdiha Panchayat of Goelkera block on Tuesday, after several children fell ill due to suspected food poisoning following the midday meal.
Soon after consuming the meal, the students complained of vomiting, diarrhoea, and dizziness.
School teachers immediately informed the Block Resource Center.
Acting swiftly, Block Development Officer Vivek Kumar directed Medical Officer-in-Charge Dr. Jayashree to send a medical team and ambulance to the school.
A medical team led by Dr. Jitendra Kumar from the Community Health Center reached the school around 3:30 pm and treated 20 children until 6:00 pm.
Out of 34 students present, 20 fell sick suddenly, triggering chaos in the school premises.
Doctors confirmed that after treatment, the children are now out of danger. As news of the incident spread, anxious parents and villagers rushed to the school.
The treated children were later sent home with their guardians.
