Jamshedpur : Police got successfully in arresting two criminals accused in aerial firing case of Turiabera under MGM police station area.
The arrested criminals include Vishwajit Singh alias Rocky Singh (32) and Rahul Kumar Singh alias Chhotu (28), residents of Shubhash Colony in Ulidih.
Both of them have lodged in jail in criminal cases in the past. Police have recovered three pistols, live bullets, smartphones and a motorcycle from them.
Senior SP Kaushal Kishor held a press conference on Wednesday.
He said that the police had received information that these criminals were roaming with illegal weapons near a school in Turiabera.
On the basis of information, a raid team was formed on the guidelines of the Rural SP informing the City SP.
When the police reached Turiabera and tried to catch them, both the criminals left the motorcycle and ran away. The police, showing readiness, surrounded them and arrested them.
During the search, two pistols, a desi katta, mobile and motorcycle were recovered from their possessions.
During interrogation, both of them confessed that on March 29, they had tried to spread panic in the area by firing in the air at Turiabera . They were trying to intimidate Lavkush Kushwaha.
Police investigation also revealed that earlier both of them had worked with another gang, but now they were building their separate gangs.
Police have sent both the accused to judicial custody and a thorough investigation into the case was initiated.
