UditVani, Jamshedpur: Daily commuters in Tatanagar and nearby region will face significant inconvenience on Tuesday, as the South Eastern Railway has cancelled 10 local trains due to operational reasons. The trains affected include Hatia–Tatanagar MEMU, Jhajjaram–Purulia MEMU, Tatanagar–Barbil MEMU, Tatanagar–Barkakana MEMU, Rajkharsawan–Tatanagar Passenger, Tatanagar–Badampahar MEMU (three pairs), Tatanagar–Guwa MEMU, and the Tatanagar–Itwari Express.
Railway authorities have further indicated that several more local services are likely to remain suspended on November 26 and 27, hinting at continued disruptions throughout the week.
The temporary shutdown of these routes is expected to cause major difficulties for thousands of passengers from Kolhan, West Bengal, and Odisha, who rely heavily on these MEMU and passenger trains for daily transportation. Office-goers, students, and small traders are anticipated to be the worst affected, with limited alternatives leading to overcrowded buses and increased travel expenses.
Passengers have called on the railway administration to ensure transparency and restore services as soon as possible to prevent further hardship. Meanwhile, authorities have urged travelers to remain updated on service status before embarking on their journeys.
